I Built A DIY Cowboy Pool For Cheap (Is A Stock Tank Pool Worth It?)

If you follow this channel at all, you know that I run a glamping site and airbnb business near Houston, TX. If you know Houston, then you know it is HOT. I've been battling the heat for my guests all summer and have been adding a few things to help bring in more guests overall. I built this 8ft wide "Cowboy Pool" as it's called now for my Texas Ranch House for under $800. It runs and works like a regular pool with a filter and chlorine. I break down what I used to make this amazing guest amenity or backyard oasis for yourself for as cheap as possible while maintaining quality. Let me know what other DIY projects I should tackle in the comments!

This is our second season with our pool. I was looking for away to keep the inlet and outlet from leaking. Last year I used caulk which leaked and rusted the pool. Your use of plumbers putty is brilliant. Thank you for that.

Awesome. I appreciated you showing how much it cost first thing. My husband can definitely do this. ❤❤❤❤ thanks for video

Update your filter to a sand filter with the salt chlorinator…you’ll LOVE how much cleaner your water is and you won’t have to clean and replace a garbage filter cartridge 3xs a week anymore. 👍
  • i believe conaire makes portable jets for like bathtubs this way you don't have to install holes into your pool, just an idea, but great video!!!
  • Where did you get the grey steps from? Am looking to do this and a dog would need access in and out - until he gets big enough to jump by himself. Love your work!!
  • 3:01 😮😮 idea to hide the connection make a flower pot out of wood and make it be hollow on two of the four sides. Then put in tropical plants. Something like a small palm tre
  • Would you consider using a pool liner? They could be replaced annually, if necessary to avoid slime, but you're probably using Chlorine anyway. Great idea about the sand filter. I heard they can also be insulated.

I don’t know how to find your links items. But we need the strainer piece that didn’t come with the pump.
