Song that might play when you're banned from free ham sandwich day

Why couldn’t she do this much damage against Jevil
  • @Pixelcraftian
Can’t wait for the day Kris goes full snowgrave-style genocide and Susie and Ralsei have to fight their way to get the Player SOUL out of them.

Something that really hits me about the end of this "fight" is how Lancer straight up tells Susie she missed, as if he was truly expecting her to kill him. He just accepted the possibility that he hurt Susie through his actions, and welcomed the consequences that came with that, even though he did what he did for a reason he knew was plausible and potentially beneficial to both him and his new friends. The saddest part wasn't Susie feeling betrayed, or Lancer getting terribly hurt. It was that he was ready to accept death, a painful death, mind you, if it meant Susie took at least a bit of comfort in knowing she scratched one more traitor from her life. ...He just... took it. And it wasn't his fault, nor was it Susie's. This entire scenario was painful for all the right reasons. Maybe I'm overthinking it. But I know what it's like to want to do the right thing and end up hurting friends because I did all the wrong things, which just so happened to be Lancer's situation. I think I relate to him more than I do Susie. We're not perfect, we build judgment as we grow and it's not always at the ready. The best learning experiences are the ones that hurt you the most.

*You tell Susie that you aren't scared of Barney wannabe's *... *you feel like you're about to lose your face

Honestly, I was terrified. Deltarune is SO MUCH more different than Undertale in that you actually have a third person you can’t control until the end (Susie) and you have to actually stop them from killing someone. It turns from, “Okay, I just won’t kill” to “What the heck can I do about Susie!?”

This song somehow I can feel anger, pain and sadness, it is just a reflection of Susie, that really makes me feel very bad for her.

the juxtaposition of "get out of my way" with "please, i don't want to hurt you" is what makes this one of the most banger tracks thus far
  • @IronianKnight
There are two kinds of people here, people who like Susie, and people who have been Susie.

i honestly felt so bad for lancer and susie in this battle, i doubt lancer could take thousands of hit points and still be standing but i think the damage was emotional damage too, he felt like he betrayed susie and susie felt like she had been betrayed, yet she didn't want to kill the best friend she's ever had
  • is it weird that I can FEEL how this song is holding back? like, even the SONG doesn't wanna hurt Lancer
  • @beanhunter6832
i like how its called vs Susie because your not fighting lancer... your fighting Susie's urge to kill him
  • We all came here to appreciate the purple tomboy, and her kickass theme.
  • @vivirose3542
This whole song is pure intimidation and just FEELS like susie's urge to kill, but then 0:53 is like the small bit of "hey I don't wanna murder lancer right now" and its perfect
  • Susie is my favorite character by far. Her being the only one who can REALLY make her own choices, and that being one of the things Kris must like about her makes a cool dynamic. Hell, I know people mention Noelle as being the character to make route defining choices with, but the cool thing with Susie is that she literally ignores the player to make her own choices. Another thing is that she's just a good person despite what you're supposed to think at first, saving Kris twice now. That and so much other stuff I could go into, but I don't want to write a book in the comment section of stuff that's probably already been said.

When somebody spells “Suzie” instead of Susie
  • Not going to sugar coat it, I was about to break some tears for once in a game, glad to know lancer was spared...
  • @reyntechmen3940
Fun fact you can edit susies stats and make her kill lancer by making her strength really high and softlock your game
  • I was repeatedly saying the words "Please don't kill him" under my breath throughout this entire sequence on my first playthrough... God damn Toby Fox can make you genuinely love these fictional characters.
