Justice Stephen Breyer is alert, intelligent and takes matters very seriously. Unfortunately he is a dying breed.
  • As a black man I will support the guy with 81 years behind him over the guy with 91 criminal charges in front of him.
  • Whats happening with the SC today is frightening! The future of our country is in big trouble because of this current SCOTUS 😔

I love how he explains the justices should not be basing rule of law on their own morals of right and wrong. It needs to be based on the LAW not how they FEEL about the law.
  • @Justin.Oldman.
My 15 yo asked me about pizzagate...she and all her friends saw it online and she was horrified. We had a discussion about media literacy that day. And about how Republicans lie about disgusting things like this to scare people into voting for them.

As a European, American politics always surprises me. Like, one side appoints well-spoken, highly regarded justices who could easily go teach at a prestigious university for an easy life, and then the other side nominates people whose most memorable quote is "i like beer"

I had always believed that the Supreme Court would follow the law. I didn't have to agree with their decision, but I hoped that they followed the law and not a political party. I no longer believe that, and changes need to be done for the court. Absolute power corrupts absolutely....Justice C Thomas. I could understand maybe once or twice with the Supreme Court benefit of doubt. Thomas should be removed just for all the monetary gains he received.

All judges who overturned Roe swore under oath that they wouldn't. Isn't that perjury?
  • @beckyd712
Now if we could only get the sitting justices to listen to Justice Breyer's reason and DO THE RIGHT THING instead of ruling only to serve their political party (rather than applying the rule of law) as they have been doing recently. Thank you Ari, great interview!

SCOTUS has proven very well that their independence is not deserved and they need a deep investigation into their actions and behind-the-scene relationships with influencers, esp. Justices Thomas and Alito.

Wonderful and delightful interview with a great man! I would certainly think that Clarence Thomas has NOT served with good behavior, as Justice Breyer says are the terms of their continued service on the Court. Time for him to be investigated and be GONE.
  • Always whining. Trump has never stopped in almost 80 years. Biggest loser vibe in American political history.

Overturning ROE was the extreme Catholic judges. Especially, Alito he's hated Roe since when it became law because of his religion. He is following the rules of the Catholic Church not his job of being a judge for the US. Not everyone in this country is Catholic or religious and should not have to follow what the religious believe. It's unfair that the majority judges are making decisions for the minority and themselves instead of letting people choose for their own health. The religious SC judges are punishing women who don't follow the Catholic religion.
  • Such a pleasure to hear considerate discourse in these very bad mannered times. Thanks Ari.
  • It's so refreshing to hear an intelligent discussion between two people who aren't yelling at each other.
