The masterful blend of Hayden’s voice with James earl jones is beyond incredible

Hayden Christiansen proved in this scene alone that he was the perfect casting for anakin skywalker. The way he smiles like a maniac makes vader even scarier than normal. When we see vader he is almost always emotionless hiding behind the mask. But here we see how psychotic he truly is.
  • Vader doesn't just sound angry when he says, "Anakin is gone, I am what remains." He sounds in pain, not just from the poorly inserted wires in his skin, not just from the discomfort of the suit rubbing on his destroyed skin. It was a pain from a wound mutch deeper.

Luke: “you said that Vader murdered my father.” Obi Wan: “he literally told me that.”

The contrast from red to blue in this is so heartbreaking. Meaning obi wan was so close to bringing him back, but his son was the one to do it.

"I am not your failure Obi Wan..." that hit so hard
  • I’m glad Hayden is finally getting the love he deserves for Vader. Everyone was so damn hard on him almost 20 years ago and now he finally has redemption 🤘

This scene was basically "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you." all over again, but ten times more emotional.

The fact that this is the only scene people remember fondly says a lot about the talent of the actors and the appreciation for more of their story
  • I love how when Anakin is talking, there’s a bit of blue light overlapping the red. Then once Vader takes control again, it turns back to full red after that. A tiny little glimpse of hope in that moment. But Vader couldn’t let Anakin win.

"Then my friend is truly dead" just grabs you by the heart strings

"Goodbye...Darth". What a god damn powerful line.

I love how Obi-wan gets the absolution he has so very desperately needed in this scene. Anakin takes responsibility for all the terrible things he's done and lets his former master know it wasn't his fault and to quit blaming himself for it.

"Then my friend is truly dead." "Then my father is truly dead."

This scene always gives me chills. You begin to think that anakin might still be in there for a moment when he says that it wasn’t obi wan who made him, but then you realize that he’s just bragging that anakin is dead. The way he makes that psychopathic smile as he watches obi wans sadness and guilt is just so scary because it just shows you how far he’s gone from the young man he once was who cared so deeply about his friends.
  • The decision to make Vader/Anakin be almost having dissociative identity disorder is both heartbreaking and genuinely amazing storytelling

Anakin's screaming at the end can be taken one of two ways. Come back so that I can finish you. Come back so that YOU can finish ME.

Obi wan series may not be perfect, but everything involving anakin, vader and obi wan was perfect, when the show was about those 2 it was at its best

I loved how Obi called Vader “Darth” like how Ben called him at the Death Star
  • I feel like this was that last shred of good in Anankin coming up and forgiving Obi-wan, telling him that he didn't have to keep torturing himself and that it wasn't his fault.
