They should’ve gotten more screen time.

There's these little things that make their relationship real. Zuko is not afraid or ashamed if Mai touches his face and scar, he leans into it, means he truly trusts her. And Mai who we in the beginning saw as an apathetic, cold girl showed more and more emotions when around Zuko. And if she doesn't talk, she stays at his side, offering the support of "I'm here if you need me" And of course the iconic moment that shows that Love is stronger than hate and fear

There is no way to not love this couple. They fit each other as dark sweethearts. Understandimg each other more than anyone.

People who say this couple is toxic probably only remember the beach episode (which ended with them reconciled anyway). Every other instance on the show itself has shown them to be very loving and supportive.

I love how nothing can make them not love each other... Zuko's banishment, their parents, war, Azula, rebellions, mental health problem...they love each other no matter what. and they always push eachother to do better and become better people. Love them, such amazing couple.

the fact that mai is a cold, apathetic and extremely introverted person, but when around Zuko she changes entirely, she’s comfortable enough to express her world and emotions to him, she wants to help him improve and make him feel better. even though he was banished and seen as a disappointment, even though he practically “dumped” her, leaving her with no explanation, she waited for him, she fought for him, she sacrificed and “betrayed” her best friend and nation only to save him. she truly loves him, and that’s exactly the type of love that he needs.

It's not easy being patient with someone like zuko... being separated from your boyfriend for 3 years....mai really was the perfect one for him

Azula was shipping Mai and Zuko from the start. Omg crazy how losing their mom changed their relationship so much.

I love Zuko and Mai's relationship! She loved him for who he was, not because he was a prince. I don't understand why some people think they didn't have chemistry when they clearly did.

I love how during "The Boiling Rock" Mai is blinded by love and can't really understand why Zuko had to leave. Granted he could have brought her with him but that would put her at risk. In the end it's her love for Zuko leads her to betray Azula alongside Ty Lee.

I’ve always loved them together. They’re both the strong silent type but i love how Mai’s love for him is unwavering. Zuko needed that type of love.

Btw Mai constantly touches his scar. She touches that side of his face every time they kiss.
