About Metalocalypse:
Metalocalypse is Adult Swim's blackest, most brutal comedy. Coming straight to your face from Brendon Small (Home Movies) and Tommy Blacha, it centers around the band Dethklok, a global metal sensation with enormous economic power and social influence. Dethklok includes Nathan Explosion on vocals, Skwisgaar Skwigelf on lead guitar, Toki Wartooth on rhythm guitar, William Murderface on bass, and Pickles the Drummer as...himself. Unfortunately, these guys are more interested in boozing, doing drugs, and causing mass destruction than in putting out new albums. Their careless attitudes cause band manager Charles Ofdensen almost constant strife as he tries to salvage Dethklok's public image and protect them from a mysterious organization known as The Tribunal. Sign a pain waiver and head over to AdultSwim.com for the harshest comedy experience of your pathetic life.

I love how even though Pickles is physically violent and tearing the place up, he still is like "oh shit, sorry" when he comes upon the lady on the toilet 😂

This is literally the most underrated fucking show in the history of underrated shows.
  • I was soooo disappointed that Pickle's full rehab saga never made it onto any Dethklok albums, it's literally the best song ever written ever

when pickles really said “it’ll have to dOoOoooOo “ chefs kiss immaculate
  • I used to be a heroin addict, and ended up working at rehab when I got clean. I actually met a lot of people like Pickles. It was pretty awesome to see people working through all this terrible shit they went through. The only job I’ve ever had where I genuinely felt like I made a difference
  • I love how its all dramatic then it just ends with him like "no."
  • I love that he kicks a door in rebelliously and then apologizes and backs off when it's the women's restroom.

The entire Pickles rehab rock opera is amazing. It not only sounds good and was nicely animated, but there's a lot of truth in what he has to say. One of the best parts for me is when the doctor starts talking about how the patients need to talk about the reasons they get high and the walls fall away to reveal a fiery pit that's supposed to be hell. For anyone with addictions or other mental issues, this is a great visual to explain the feeling. No one stuck in addiction or other damaging behavior finds any of it pleasant. As the doctor sings, Pickles sees flashes of his brother. He knows the reason he drinks, but he comes up with all these excuses to make it seem like he's just a cool guy who likes alcohol instead of being a guy who was hurt as a young child by his brother (and other family) and used it as an escape. Then the doctor and medical staff are shown with horns, to represent that they're seen as the villains, as part of the hell that Pickles must endure. In reality, they're trying to help him, but he sees them as bad for forcing him to stew in his hell. Then, when he reveals the reason he really drinks, the hell closes up.  It's not just a brutal and awesome song with excellent visuals, it has a lot of meaning to it.

Character development in this show was so good. And it's hard to beat the sound track. I really miss metalocalypse.

Gotta love how brutally honest these songs are. This show has a really lax tone most of the time. They treat death like it isn’t a big deal. The band members tend to be pathetic and petty about everything. You don’t expect this kind of serious tone. You might have even thought this sketch was meant to be played comedically at first, but a lot of people who have been through this probably caught on immediately to his withdrawals. Then the music actually starts to get epic. You start to realize this is a real world problem. Even a show like this knows how serious substance abuse is, despite constantly making a joke out of it. They know how to convey that feeling of torment when it really matters to the main cast themselves. We’ve been conditioned to relate to the band. They’re talking to us in a way. That can be scary. Childhood trauma can even go beyond the realm of substance abuse. Everyone has been through some kind of trauma or another, and suffer lifelong psychological issues as a result. This show has tackled or goes on to tackle these issues with the rest of the band as well. The heart of music is when it hits you deep and connects with you, and nothing is more metal than having to confront your darkest fears.

I love how this show takes upon different subgenres and deliveries of metal. And here, of course, ROCK OPERA
  • @Mikeanglo
Brendon Small is a surprisingly awesome vocalist. This show, and the music, really impressed me the first time I watched this...its rare for a TV show to adopt a musical element, in fact I can't think of another show like this.

"YOU MUST FORGIVE YOUR BROTHEEEEEER!!!" - Doctors "No way." - Pickles LMAO
  • @CAPSrule8888
The slight head banging by the doctors really makes this scene
  • Man, i know this show was humor and a joke, but this rehab part of the opera kinda hits me, specially the part where they ask why he drinks and he refuses to tell, and the doctor really wanna help pickles to get clean, i love it
