Maybe you should have worried about China in the 80s when you outsourced all of our jobs there.

Anyone who always blame on others and does not know their own mistakes is a total loser.

The greatest challenge of this world is knowing enough about a subject to think you are right, but not knowing enough about the subject to know you are wrongā€¦

Blame CEOs of big American companies slashing their R&D departments to save money for their stock holders.

Unbelievable how naive this ambassador is.

The U.S. sometimes says that China is weak, and sometimes says that China is the most competitive and the most threatening. ??? I'm confused.
  • As an ambassador to China, after so many years of living in China, his understanding of China is only at this level. It's really derelict of duty
  • 26:48 27:39 More incessant blathering about China being a communist country. News flash folks: they're not a communist country. They have a communist part, but are not, in any way shape or form, a communist country. They have money, markets, private property, trade, supply and demand dynamics -- all the hallmarks of capitalist countries. The reason they have been more successful than western countries in terms of rate of ascension is because of the vast amount of state intervention in the market, through massive subsidies, for example. Maybe it's time we started copying some of their work, the way they've been copying us all these decades.

If the country is really fading away - why do Americans worry so much about itā€¦

Does anyone know when the conversation with the ambassador took place? I do not believe this is a recent conversation.
  • I used be a 60 Minutes die-hard, but lately I'm skeptical and take their reporting with a grain of salt. My change of sentiment was when 60 Minutes interviewed ALMO, Mexico's president. I started to noticed 60 Minutes sometimes will report what Americans want to hear rather than reporting un-edited versions of their interviews. Folks, do your own homework.
