  • Great job with the tag, Nicky! We really are kindred spirits, though I think you have read a lot more horror than I have. I'm so glad that you are enjoying T. Kingfisher as much as I am!
  • @TheBookubus
Thanks for doing the tag! I have Tender is the Flesh and The Silent Companions on my shelf but haven't read them yet so I definitely need to get to them!
  • You’re absolutely right about Elizabeth Gaskell! She has some masterful ghost stories. I really fell in love with ghost stories back when the movie The Sixth Sense came out. What I like about ghost stories is how the horror and scariness is often more subtle than the gross, slasher type books and films.

Great job with the tag! I would highly recommend Shirley Jackson. The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived In The Castle are creepy, gothic classics. You mentioned The Graveyard Book. Neil Gaiman writes more Dark Fantasy then Horror, but his stories are delightfully unsettling. Stephen King does write some excellent non- horror novels. 11/22/63 is a great example. Dracula is excellent! Gorgeous edition of The Vampire Chronicles.
  • So, I'll warn you now. I'll do the tag. But I'm an even bigger scaredy cat. I can't even watch your video less I get scared by a book cover. lol This will be an interesting challenge!
