Smoke billows over the southern Lebanese village of Chihine after an Israeli strike. Israel vowed to retaliate after rocket fire from Lebanon killed 12 young people in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights and again raised fears that the war in Gaza will spread.

    Israel will clinically note the ref point from the rocket firing and retaliate. The fact that Lebanon has allowed Hezbolah to operate freely means every local community is put at risk.
