How to fish a plastic worm plus a giant Bass

Published 2023-05-08
I show the viewer the ABC's of plastic worm fishing, Roland Martin style! I show all the proper way to retrieve and set the hook as well, then I take the viewer to bank fishing in Missouri where I catch a bass nearly 10 pounds!

  • Hey Roland, about 17 years ago I sold your son a house down here in Fl. We talked about fishing, and I told him I hadn’t fished for bass since I moved to Florida. He was generous enough to take me out fishing one afternoon and show me how to Texas rig a line and catch bass out of the ponds. Today, my son helped my three-year-old grandson reel in an 18 inch beauty! Tell him I said, thank you again!! Bryan

Hey Roland, love you man. I've been watching you since 1978 I was 8 yrs old. It was about that time that I remember the first time I ever fished a plastic worm. My grandmother and I were fishing in our pond on the farm and she pulls out a pack of the old blueberry blue worms. We caught the mess out of them that day. My grandmother years later in the assisted living place would tell people about that day and how the blue worm was the best. She couldn't remember what she had for lunch but she could tell you every detail about how she fished that blue worm.

I'm 47, I've watched your fishing shows since elementary school, so far back I can't remember not watching you. Thanks, Roland!
  • Gotta love Roland! 🙌🏼 Only person on YouTube who stops to adjust the camera while catching a 9 lbs bass. 😂
  • @A-Aron5151
Rowan Martin is a gangster. He has this size of a fish on and just leaves him be while he walks up the bank to adjust his camera. Straight up G
  • In have ALWAYS enjoyed watching you, Bill, and Jimmy since I was a teenager!!!😊
  • Roland I use to watch you on TBS in the 1980s and early 1990s with my Father. You had one of the best shows on TV and the best Intro to any fishing show. You the man!
  • I grew up watching you and Bill Dance. Man, you guys inspire me now just as much as y’all did back then. You are the GOAT in my opinion.

Been fishing for bass for many years and still learning something. Thanks for video. Never ever heard anybody or seen anybody go through the gill taking a hook out to minimize a harm to a bass!
  • I remember my dad teaching me how to bass fish with a worm. It's one of my favorite baits to this day. Thank you Roland. Always love your teaching videos.
  • S O N ! ! ! Roland, I've been watching you on tv for what, over 40 years now. Your hair's a little whiter now (and so's mine), but you haven't lost a step at all. You and Bill, and Jimmy (Oh! And let's not forget Jerry McKinnis) have been my biggest influences. Thank you Sir, for all of the entertainment, and education.
