  • also i know a lot of people keep asking about my job but i still havent decided how much i want to share about it since ive always kept my β€œprofessional” life separate so i’ll just surprise you in a vlog or something soon 😀
  • the fact that my drawer is partially open the entire video is actually sending me into a spiral πŸ˜‡

I remember the early days of studying Japanese where I felt like "I can ask the question, but I can't understand the answer!" The first time I was here, I was far shyer and more hesitant to speak, always afraid I'd make a mistake, but this time I'm more chill, I know my Japanese isn't very good, but I'm just like, who cares, just talk! It's made life a lot easier.

Although I'll never live in Japan, it's interesting to learn about what people I follow online have to deal with. You presented a lot of information clearly and it was well edited. Thanks for doing this, Allison. It was fun.
  • 3 years is accurate for learning Japanese if you are studying around 2 hours day. Using iTalki after the first year will increase your acquisition rate.
  • Can’t get over the fact that you’re almost at 40,000 subscribers!! I’ve been here since 12,000 so it’s blowing my mind. Thank you for answering all of our many many questions!

I absolutely love these videos. It's so interesting to hear about the details of actually living there, especially since you are from the U.S. I visited Japan in March and I knew I would absolutely love it. Thank you for posting and I always look forward to hearing about your life in Japan.
  • Brilliant video Allison, it’s great to get views of someone who has lived and immersed themselves into life in another country. It was very interesting to hear that quite a few things compare to England/UK. Thank you for continuing to share your experiences with us and best wishes to you

I love how non-judgmental you are! It's the reality that people who don't learn languages easily might still enjoy living in Japan. They could still be a kind friend. I did learn Japanese but I wish I had been less judgemental than I was of expats who did not. I could have had more friends.

My partner and I love watching all of your videos in preparation for our own trip (and eventual move) to Japan, but this one felt especially like sitting down with a knowledgeable friend and chatting about life! We're also from Florida, so your specific insight is so valuable to us πŸ™πŸ₯Ί Thank you for all of the work you put into your videos!
