Film description: Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants, to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

James McAvoy's performance as a young Professor Xavier is so remarkable.
-
Xavier learning to teach Alex how to control his powers by concentrating it into a single point, and doing the same for Scott years later is golden.
-
The fact that Magneto wanted his friend to 'shoot' him for training just kind of proves how fundementally broken he is.
-
The scene and James' acting really show how amazing of a teacher Xavier is. He changes his style of communication for each student if you notice. He tries to make Havoc feel comfortable by concealing his testing facility. He engaged the interest of Banshee by coaxing him with the prospect of becoming stronger. He engaged in an intellectual and philosophical debate with Beast, and of course he plays on Erik's need for efficiency to calm his impatience.

"If you know you can deflect it, you're not challenging yourself." As weird as it might sound, that actually made me push myself harder in my workouts than ever. I was using weights I knew I could handle and only jogging enough I knew I could take. I finally started really pushing myself.

Arguably the best X-Men movie
-
The way Xavier handles Magneto's anger in the training montage is brilliant. Instead of just telling him to suppress the anger he focuses on helping him control it as well as reminding him that anger might make him strong but it's only half of his potential. I'm just glad we get this take instead of "anger bad, happy good"
-
The gunshot would've killed magneto anyway - there's gas and a shockwave that comes out with or without the bullet.
-
the only mutant training that properly deliver, we never see like this in any other xmen movies, i was hoping i can see something like this again in young mutant but i was wrong
-
1:29 that smile though ❤
-
I'm not a big X-men fan, the movies never captured me, but the relationship between young Xavier and Magneto is so well done, actually very catchy for some reason
-
First Class was fun as hell to watch in the theaters
-
Bruh, the bravery Xavier demonstrated just through the fact he was going to stand there in the bunker with him and then asking if he should shut the door or not before doing it, That's a level of faith in people that I don't think I've ever had in my life... course he had no idea how destructive his ability actually was but in a way that's even more impressive.
-
0:55 I love that they always make the lights on sequentially, while in the real world they just "on" all at once :))
-
James and Michael chemistry together is so good to watch. Hope they get more xmen films together
-
Fassbender and McAvoy carried all of these movies
-
The chemistry between Xavier and Erik in these films is legendary. McAvoy and Fassbender are the goats for playing them so well
-
The transitions gave me ridiculously strong "the hulk" vibes.

"i can't shoot anybody point blank let alone my friend" if you think about it magneto "shooting" shaw with the coin is exact reverse of this situation, since xavier is the one who felt it. also same direction with magneto on the left and charles on the right. kind of says something about their difference as characters, magneto would ultimately hurt his friends.
