I do animal rescue so I needed a good vacuum. Must have tried everything until I found a Royal Commercial vacuum similar to this one without the bells and whistles. Best darn vacuum I have found so far.
-
We pitted it against the yellow Dyson upright. One big scoop of beach sand on some plush carpeting. When the Dyson could pick up no more sand this Classic Royal honestly picked up about 5 good sized tablespoons worth of sand out of the test carpet. I no the second vac always picks up something left behind by the first vac but that much was very unusual and impressed me.

your dog just loves that dirt! he's always eating it before you start vacuuming!
-
I like how those Royals agitate and draw the dirt towards the vacuum.
-
And those models, if you don't know, would be 888 (Royal) and 980 (Electro-Hygiene), both of which were finally dropped after 1987.
-
No doubt, the more I've used this vacuum the more I like it too
-
I don't think they were ever in "direct" competition with each other other than just being in competition against all the other vacuum cleaner companies.
-
I have a new one and your is in awesome condition

The only Royal that would have been more direct toward Kirby were those models produced from the early 1970s to the mid 1980s that had the removable head. Also, the Extra Equipment Kit gave the Royals extra versatility (the small bag is out for me, I'd use the original bag with the portable handle).

Neat, but your should show the throw away bag if it mount it ;-)

cool
-
were royal and kirby ever in competition with each other? their machines have always been so similar
-
Problem with this is he doesn't mention the model or year of manufacture. Need this information for reference, always.
-
I don't know yet, haven't done it
-
Isn't changing the belt on one of these classic Royals hard to do?
-
Were do they manufacture Royals?
-
what is the model? thanks
-
would you consider selling this? I'm very interested!

Say, does this machine do a better job at cleaning than a cheap Bissell, Dirt Devil or Eureka from Walmart?
