What did she actually say in the TikTok? That would be useful in a news story about the event!

I feel like I’m less informed on the situation after watching this video.

If you aren't smart enough to steer clear of TikTok, you have no business being a teacher.

Most employers will terminate an employee for airing their opinions on social media if those posts bring any embarrassment to the company or the supervision. Not just a government job. Here's what I tell my friends and family. Don't post anything on social media. It can come back and haunt you forever.
  • DONT TALK ABOUT YOUR JOB ON SOCIAL MEDIA. They will see it and use it against you
  • @Inigo_The_Son
Horrible reporting. They didn't even mention the content of the TikTok.
  • She could easily avoided this whole situation by simply keeping her private business private.

Literally every job ive ever had tells you not to speak of the company on social media . Why is she confused that she's not welcomed back . She should have took her complaints somewhere besides TikTok . I am confused on what her goal was to begin with .

It’s 2023. Haven’t we all learned that social media posts about your job or displaying poor judgment publicly can get you fired. What was the intentions of sharing publicly on TikTok? If there was a concern with how administration handled things take it up the chain or file a complaint with the board.

As a teacher, she should know that the First Amendment she so readily invokes protects us from legal consequences only, not professional or financial ones. Do you think the CEO of Coca Cola would keep his job if he went on record saying Pepsi is better?

When are these social media junkies going to realize their five seconds of fame may cost them? No sympathy for her at all. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Period

Anyone in a professional position needs to mind their conduct at all times. I knew of a supervisor who was out of control at a bar. The police were called. The bar management banned her from ever returning. Her conduct was so outrageous that a local newspaper write about it, including identifying the troublemaker by name. When her job heard about it, she was promptly terminated.

What not to do: Air your grievances in a public forum.
  • @GoldWing-mx3te
This is what she says in the video: "Today I got pulled into a "check in" with my administrator at school and she had this lovely list of concerns that she wanted to bring to my attention, but my favorite amongst them is... We've noticed an intentional attempt at teaching your students about their legal and constitutional rights. That's the concern. They're concerned. Why are you concerned? Why is that a concern? Why does it concern you?"
  • @aspireahead8388
As a teacher myself, I am wondering.... The principal spoke to you and gave you a list of concerns, and instead of working on those concerns, you posted it on TikTok... Ohhhhhhhhhh kayyyyyyy...🤷‍♂

This woman's action prove beyond any doubt that she has no sense of judgement whatsoever. Such a person should NEVER be teaching children.
  • This is an HR matter. This doesn't have anything to do with the rest of us.
  • @lemmdus2119
It’s never a good idea to tell others what you are thinking; they can and will use it against you
  • @rosseckstein4183
She just seems so condescending. And she refers to herself as “we” too many times.
  • @hkb1467
She was unprofessional in her TikTok post specifically relating to her profession. She should stay fired. TikTok is a generally a medium for nonsense.
