Hey, its another of those times where I sit around typing stuff as the video uploads.

Ive been putting a lot of effort recently into creating content for the Starcraft 2 community to play, it's been really fun.

The honest fact is that there isn't a whole lot of space for difficult challenge runs in RTS,. My options were to do the typical YouTuber thing where you do progressively easier challenges while pretending that they are hard, or expand my content. I am trying my hand as a creator in other parts of the scene and I am very happy with the results so far.

I hope you enjoy the video!

I remember a comment on the HotS Real-Scale testing on the other channel that said that with this mod, Kerrigan's fear of the Golden Armada coming to get her at Kaldir makes MUCH more sense.

Even though Grant laughs at the hybrids and their size, I think it's rather impressive. All this power and strength in such a small package. The ability to tear ultralisks apart...
  • @Chyrre
Everyone: "Protoss OP" Protoss: "Hold my Lore-Accurate Units"

mothership cloaking in the game: i project a cloakingfield that prevents my allies from being seen mothership cloaking in real scale: the voidrays hide under my gigantic body

Artanis: -Appears at the final battle of the Protoss race -Gives a speech about hope or something -Dies -Refuses to elaborate

It would take A LOT of time to make, but the maps really need to be bigger for this mod.
  • This feels like it's just a couple steps away from turning Starcraft into Total Annihilation.

"It's somewhat manageable before Selendis, but once her girthy carrier has arrived the entire screen is just orange..." Imagine hearing this sentence out of context
  • @roknor9815
13:09 "After Tosh, I do Nova, which isn't that exciting at first, but it gets a lot better once I can dominate a Raven and bring it in on the fun." Phrasing, Grant!
  • @ianp1012
5 minutes in I went from, "OK that makes sense lore wise." to, "Holy shit that void ray is 80% of the map. Good god".
  • @Twidgie
Geez, the biblically accurate mothership really is the destroyer of worlds.
  • @HORoundhouse
Artanis in Real Scale: -arrives -praises the glory of the (dying) protoss -refuses to elaborate -dies

I remember watching the vod of Safe Haven and being in awe when we first saw the shadow pass across the screen. SO INTIMIDATING!!! I also remember you losing track of the All In Cattlebruiser only to realize it's living its best life as lore-friendly untouchable orbital bombardment.
  • It has always bothered me how the Starcraft lore makes the Protoss sound like they really are the chosen Xel'Naga race, but the gameplay makes them seem human. This solves that! Lots of fun, great video. Edit: Just got to the Leviathan part of the video, and remembered that the Xel'Naga also chose the Zerg as the other purity. Legitimately forgot that.

I can practically hear the grin on your face as you talk about this, looking forward to trying this out myself. Cheers!
  • @flaviobriggs
Lore wise I always told myself that rather than actually looking down on a real battlefield you were instead controlling one as a commander. 1 BC might be one actual BC but a single marine unit would instead represent a platoon of marines or more is always how I thought of it.

If I can, I would suggest a little video idea. "Meme units / techs and why they are meme". You mentioned couple of times that Destroyers, predators and Avengers are bad and basically meme. I would like to see the entire list of every bad tech / unit type and why it is bad. This could include Kerrigan's / Spear of Adun upgrades.

The Maw part really shows why I prefer longer "Time-to-Kill" ratios in games. When things don't instantly blow up after a second or two there's a lot more room for tactics and strategy, and it's less punishing if you make a single misstep, however that can still escalate into a loss if you don't recover.
  • @JainZar1
The "Click to skip tutorial" is the best feature of the HotS Realscale campaign.
  • @Sullian_dF
Also, I think a really good idea for battlecruisers would be to give them the ability to target multiple units, kinda like in NCO. The way I see it, the main problem is that the BCs are so high up and their projectiles are so slow that once they kill their target, it takes like one or two seconds for them to effectively deal damage to another target, wasting dozens of laser shots on a dead Hydralisk, making them pretty ineffective against small targets. IMO the multi-targeting would help alleviate that. Plus, come on, a Minotaur-class BC is like 900 meters long and probably has like dozens of laser batteries, wouldn't it just make sense to have it strike multiple target at once? Edit: Also, forgot to mention it, but the carriers could use the same treatement, in addition to more interceptors. That mod is marvelous, but capital ships that don't have area damage feel like they just are just here for their tanking potential (especially in a mod where there are overall massively more units per mission), which saddens me a bit.
