If you want to see all your transportation options for getting downtown from DCA, IAD or BWI, check out this video from last year: https://youtu.be/yfyIyn59i4c

This helped me so much yesterday! I was stressed once I got off the plane because I had no idea where to get to the metro. This really helped my anxiety. Thank you!
-
Just came from DC and used the Metro from DCA to My hotel near downtown!! Awesome experience!! So convenient! So affordable! Just walked a block to my hotel. LA needs to have this soon

The airport metro station exit escalators and walkways are at each extremity so especially when in a hurry, be strategic with which Metro car you ride in When travelling to DCA from downtown (on both lines and in both six and eight train configurations) : Terminals A and B: Air Canada, Alaska, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, United — Ride in the FIRST metro car at near forward-most door Terminal B/C and C: American and JetBlue — Ride in the LAST metro car by last door Arriving from Alexandria/points south, just reverse (C in first car, A/B in last car)

Just got back from DC and used the Metro to get from Reagan to Federal Center SW. The Yellow Line is currently closed so you have to take the Blue. Also, the lady in the Information Booth told me how to take a shortcut from Baggage Claims (Southwest) to Metro: go out the doors near the Baggage Claim, walk across the five lanes of traffic to the walkway, bear left (there is a small sign that says "Metro" - go under the bridge, and follow the signs to the Metro. She said this route saves you time and is much easier to use. My biggest problem with Metro is figuring out how to put $ on the Smartcard - luckily,, there was a Metro worker standing near the machines to help you and, on the return trip I just asked a friendly local to help me, and she was happy to do so. Everything went well. Thanks for your videos - they helped.

Thank you for all of your great videos Rob! I watched pretty much all them before visiting last weekend to see our son perform in the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. However, there was one bit of information that I didn't know about the Metro. It doesn't open until 8:00am on Sunday mornings. Ugh! On our way to the station around 6:30am we ran into a family hauling their luggage back to the hotel, who said it doesn't open until 8:00am. Long story short we had to pay $20 for a cab and gave our Smart trip cards to a worker at the airport who could use them :)

I'll be coming into town in three weeks, and I'll be using the Metro a good 85% of the time. Good to know that I can it to and from DCA.

Highly recommended b/c so easy plus please do stand right walk left on the escalators trust me it makes a difference to catch the metro faster and get a sling/ bike bag from amhoo it made a world of difference to carry belongings most importantly a water bottle and important necessities

Would love to see a video about best ways to get to and out of BWI and IAD

I'm coming to Wash DC in 2 weeks. I'll walk down the long hallway from terminal A (ugh) and take the Metro. I have time to kill. No need for a shuttle.

From where I live, more flights go to Dulles than Reagan. Would like to see a video on how to get to Downtown DC since it appears the Silver Line does not yet reach Dulles. Thanks for all your great topics.
-
Hi! Any of you know how to arrive since the Ronald Reagan airport until Falls Church? Thanks
-
and in a few years we'll have a metro station at Dulles airport. That is IF it ever gets done :)
