Be ok with something progressing slower! Legion can literally be done with just burning events and bonks, monster park can be done with 2 a day and not 7, drops will come even if you kill daily bosses 3 times a week instead of 7. Itā€™s ok to slow down if you arenā€™t an end game pusher.
  • Your advice on picking a character based on looks is actually huge. Iā€™m pumped you suggest to pick based on that. And yeah backing it up with a good YT search is solid, I did this. Turns out Mechanic and Blaster kept looking dope, I landed on Mechanic and itā€™s freaking solid to play for me.
  • +1 to the last point about practicing bosses. I remember years ago, when I first started practicing hard gollux on my aran. I'd go in each day and not even expect to kill it, instead simply focusing on developing my reflexes, maybe chipping the health bar down a little further than yesterday. Took 1-2 weeks iirc before I killed it. Similar thing happened not long after, with hard magnus. A common theme in the tips of this video is setting the right expectations for yourself. Maplestory is definitely a marathon, not a sprint.

Appreciate you talking about burnout, Iā€™ve played the game on and off for like 18 years now and have quit so many times because of burnout. Iā€™m taking things a little slower this time and it feels much better
  • @Overdragoon
Thanks for the video! I agree with everything you talked about. One thing that although not completely bricking account that you didnā€™t mention is to take advantage of events and not sleep on them. Events make progression so much better and because of the time restraining nature of them you can regret not doing them. Specially legacy stuff like the Abyssal expedition legion block we had a few months ago. That kind of event rarely happens
  • @Apotthecare
thank you i will not be bricking my account

good tips. as far as starforcing, I got all my superiors to 21* on SSF and had ~40b left, so I decided to push my CRA from 21 to 22, starting with the hat. I boomed 26 times and only got it back to 21 before I was low on meso. talk about an outlier haha. but that shitshow aside, I was pretty content with the overall gains. just try to come into an event with more than enough to hit your goals (on average) and don't let the gambling addiction win if you start to lose progress

Dude churning out content lately, gotta love it

omg thank u so muchh, my maplestory experience has just became a lot better!!

This is definitely the best advice video you've put out! So many really good advice that people fail to recognize. Mental is such a huge part of this game when this game requires so much grinding and time investment. Keep up the good work Duky!
  • You cannot go wrong with Bishop. Itā€™s been solid from the jump

While I play in GMS Scania and donā€™t get the meso gains from souls you reboot players get, your advice is amazing all the same. Iā€™m one of those players currently sitting at not being able to solo HDarknell lol. About 83m cp as a bucc and the one fatal flaw of my class is truly having every iframe tied to damage. So I either try bursting his hp down or save them for lethal moments. I am trying though šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ glad this was in my recommended, you gained a new subscriber šŸ˜ƒ

personally my biggest burn out is learning every aspect of the game before playing the game. luckily the AB hyper event is really gliding me along so im not burnt out and almost 260 so after that I feel like anything I enjoy will be beneficial to my character and while doing that learning more for alts. fun stuff but takes awhile and gotta go at your own pace
  • @Jish4k
I feel like EVERY new player should see this video covers so many pain points that they would normally experience Very informative, keep up the goated content
  • @kameronl1482
9:00 is prob the best advice in this vid so many people hate SF because "its a system where u can get weaker" but this is really only true in very unlucky cases or if u try to push to 22 with 2 bil in ur inventory starting at 17 stars.
  • @Monkey0nMars
Yeah I feel that burnout thing. I am wanting to grind dailyā€™s on all my classes that I want to eventually use a boss mule but itā€™s just too much for me all at once. So I have been taking it slow doing one class at a time which is a lot easier. Rip future me when needing those classes though šŸ˜‚

The first item I ever tried to get 21 stars on, I went into the 99th percentile for meso spent without reaching it (specifically, I actually didn't hit 20 stars a single time despite 18 booms and ~35b spent on ssf). I'm not saying that it doesn't average out with other items over a long time, but if that's the very first experience of a newer player trying to breach into the midgame, it's completely understandable if the experience massively upsets them. Luck can be very cruel at times when it's entirely dependent on RNG, but persistence will always win out eventually if they're still enjoying the game and keep going.
