L'inizio e il finale sono di una bellezza straordinaria

This ending hits you very hard, because -- it's like the feeling when you love someone so deeply, that you cling onto them with all your heart, and then they are gone, and you are left profoundly disoriented, with nothing to hold onto amidst the chaos and movements of the world.

Beautiful and bold ending. Sort of like a closing coda in a symphony.

Un finale memorabile. Siamo solo un attimo in confronto all'eternità. Non siamo niente. ❤

this is the best ending to any movie ever made. it's unparalleled . period
-
One of the best endings ever

Beautiful, daring, bold, imaginative. I love the fact that at about 4: 50 he puts an actress in there who looks like VItti but is not. ANd the two do not appear in this montage. Antonioni was one of the first to accent the primacy of places in films. ANd to give those places a texture that could almost be felt.

Obra maestra absoluta. Antonioni está entre los más grandes.
-
One of the most frightening endings I've seen; it ranks with the ending of Tarkovsky's SOLARIS.
-
So daring, just revolutionary really.
-
puede ser que este sea el final mas creativo en el mundo del cine es de esos finales que quedan en la memoria

Can you imagine having the luck to get Ferzetti, Marcello M, and Delon as your leading men for three pictures in a row?
-
wonderful
-
....l'anima di Antonioni...
-
delon: ... see you tomorrow and the day after ... vitti: ... and the one after the other and still .... delon: ... and forever ... vitti: ... and tonight .... delon: ... at eight o'clock, the usual place .................... a TRUE masterpiece especially in the opening scenes and endings. And many other small and big words within

the movie was good but this ending is great. just entrancing

Someone I saw briefly brought the L'Eclisse video over and we watched it. I remember most of these shots. Sound isn't all that important. Images are.

RIP Tonino Guerra

I just thought of something that I missed before. Is that spot which is lit up at 6:27 the place they were supposed to meet at later than night? And this shows they did not? If so, then this is even better than I thought it was.

No, it's the existential fear. And today we are living it in Japan.
