"I don't wanna be the owner of your fantasy, I just wanna be a part of your family" gets me every time. Such a treasure. Adrianne is the best 🖐️🖐️⤵️
  • her songwriting is just incredible. "Circle of pine and red oak/Circle of moss and firesmoke" is so simple but so evocative, and this song is full of lines like that

the perfect embodiment of being a “childish” person. pleading like a child to be near the other again, pushing everyone away just like an angsty teen, clinging to memories you can barely remember. this is such a vulnerable piece n it feels like she took it right from my soul

  • me for 90% of the video: "show us her right hand you cowards" probably my favorite song of hers of all time

maybe my favorite song she’s written.
  • Adrianne is a treasure. Found out about her a few years back when a friend of mine was playing her while she was giving me a ride home. Stayed mesmerized by Hours Were thr Birds for weeks after that and haven't missed an album since.
