My entire career had been devoted to this idea to this moment ....decades Echo:Copy his ult in second Sigma:
  • Sigma is the only other charachter apart from bastion that I have ever felt sorry for, he is the victim of his own genius and is truly one of the most interesting heros
  • "I will bring you a new understanding of-- VIOLENCE." The coldest line I've ever heard. It still sends shivers down my spine, hearing this.

Step 1: Oil floats in water Step 2: Wait until it goes rain Step 3: Cover yourself in oil Step 4:

0:30 the sheer terror and confusion in his voice is kind of spine chilling. It sounds so real. And it really makes you feel bad for him. Sigma definitely has one of the best if not THE best voices in the game. Which is saying something in a game full of phenomenal voice acting. Massive kudos to Boris Hiestand.

"It's too much to hold on to." Such an insanely well delivered line. I like to think that this was the last sane thought Sigma had. A final, all encompassing realisation that everything is about to go catastrophically wrong. And there's nothing he can do to change that.
  • Widowmaker: I can snipe Reaper: I can't die Doomfist: I can punch Sigma: I control one of the four fundamental forces of the universe.

Sigma in lore: “I will show you a new understanding of VIOLENCE....” Sigma in game: “Dr. Zhou. I've read your work; it's brilliant. :)) “
  • Keep coming back here every time. How they created such a rich, unique character and just abandoned his potential is mind-boggling. He’s likely one of the most well-known heroes at this point and they literally only have this video that sheds light on his past.

Sigma yelling "Release me" when nano'd in OW2. Perfection. Chills every game it happens
  • @wisplus2475
Lucio: “Move to the beat” Sigma: “WHAT IS THAT MELODY?!!!”
  • @NoKeyzNoLife
When Lucio said “Give yourself to the rhythm!” I don’t think he meant this.
  • This is lovecraftian horror. In a toned down way of course, but it is still cosmic horror. The story of the explorer, the valiant and brave, pushing the boundaries of knowledge, understanding, reality. The story of the one that pushed too far. Pushing out of it. On the other side of understanding, being able to know and think and feel in ways the brain is far too primitive for. And then returning back from the void. Back to what is known, but still remembering. Not remembering how you thought, why you thought, how you felt, but remembering only that there is something more
  • This entire video is a masterpiece, an incredible short story, an outstanding voice acting that lets you feel the fear, anger and confusion on his voice, impecable animation that shows us how twisted sigma’s mind is after his accident with the black hole test and incredible bone chilling sound effects that gives you goosebumps no matter how many times i see this origin story, truly a short cinematic masterpiece that gives us an amazing lore and story that leaves you craving for more lore and animations such as this one

honestly giant props to the voice actor his voice literally gave me chills
  • @cursedaegg
This guy makes junkrat seem like a normal person.
  • 1:03 is probably my favorite part by far, it shows how quickly he changed from a calm collected composer of a scientist, to a confused, afraid, and very dangerous being not of this world anymore. Siebren de Kuiper died when coming into a black hole, Sigma is all that he is now.

Overwatch could easily create one of the murkier ideas in cosmic horror. The fact that crossing such a physical boundary as controlling a black hole would tear you apart on an inhuman level both mentally and emotionally is terrifying. It can be interpreted as the doctor crossing a barrier to which it is impossible to use a minimum human understanding, to which the brain is not capable of processing what he lived there, permanently altering his reality. Thinking that the universe itself is "singing" to him. Perhaps it was what Sigma saw beyond her experiment. The terror of the unknown is wonderful.
