Kentridge High School was placed on lockdown after an armed carjacker entered the school on Thursday morning.

According to the Kent Police Department, around 9:30 a.m. officers responded to reports of a carjacking after the victim called 911. The 27-year-old man said an individual posed as a purchaser of a vehicle he had for sale.

The suspect, who Kent police said was a juvenile, fled in the vehicle and drove into the parking lot of Kentridge High School. After abandoning the vehicle, the individual entered the high school.

Police said the high school was immediately placed on lockdown. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.
