6 Mental Health-friendly tips for Artists (that I wish I'd known sooner💡🎨)

Published 2024-06-23
Hello a Traveler of Worlds!

Welcome back to another video where I share 6 mental health-friendly tips for artists and creatives. This video was inspired by several weeks of low mental and creative energy.
In all honesty, it's hard to judge yourself at times and I'm not completely sure if this video is of help to anyone. I still hope you enjoy it though and let me know in the comments if you have any thoughts on this topic. I'd love to hear them!

I appreciate you all so much! I hope to return to you a little more energized in a week or two. Please take care and be kind to yourself and to others. No matter where you are on your creative journey - how much or how little you create - you are a beautiful artist nonetheless and worthy of that title!

All my love and light to you always, and hugs from Oop and BamBam!
- Frederike

I needed to hear all of these tips Frederike 💛 and you are so lovely to spend time with!
  • Thank you for sharing, so beautifully done! I loved the mention of the cycle. I am learning to work with it instead of fighting against it.
  • Do you have any mental health friendly advice for artists and creatives? If you do, I'd love to hear them! 🧡🎨
  • Lovely tips, Frederike! Love the use of imagery as you explained the tips and it's so important to stay true to yourself and not compare yourself to others. The art one creates shouldn't be the same as the next person. Someone once said to me that the painting that doesn't sell doesn't mean it's bad, it just hasn't been found by the person who loves it yet. Hope you & your partner and the doggies are having a great week!
  • Usually, I watch YouTube videos while creating myself, so I like a video and move on. But now I put my pencil down as I wanted to say, thank you. It was a very good video, with great spirit and tips. And yes, I would love to hear and see more videos like this, I do not think you're rambling, you have a lovely voice and good thoughts to share. Bits of wisdom and self-reflection that make others think is never a bad thing. So I say, get rid of the timer next time haha!

Aaaaah haha.... Been there done that. Great advice though. But the thing is, anyone could have told us that long ago. The problem is, most people are stubborn.... we can't learn from other peoples mistake. We have to repeat those same mistakes in order to learn from it. "Seeing is believing" - and until we do, any advice is just words from a crazy old person, haha.... Have a great Sunday my friend. Watching from Shanghai.... Thomas
  • During the last few years, I photographed so much in a short period. I exhausted myself. I began questioning why I was doing this; I really didn't care if I ever photographed again. I had to rest. Probably I forced myself into rest. I put down my camera for a few weeks

I LOVE you and your personality and the way you share your wisdom 💖 Your English is beautiful. Your wanderings are amazing because then so much side wisdom gets picked up along the way. Those tongue tied moments 😂 Thank you.
  • A nice chat Frederike (the Y) it’s the thing that keeps you going and indeed got you going in the first place so cool you found out this truth too 😊👌🏻 Also it’s so important to allow yourself the space to do what you love (at least equally with other things) that’s a good point you made too 👍 Enjoyed as always 🙏🏼 Best wishes Simon 🤠👍
  • Great and interesting reflection ! Indeed creativity may not be 'killed' by techniques there must always be a lot of space for our spontaneity and staying true to ourselves no matter what other people find of our artwork , thàt's important too . Living life as it feels the most comfortable to ourself that's an achievement in itself 😉. I wish you beautiful days now nature is at its best and the days are longer 🍀ps your doggies look so cuddly 🥰
