🍬 I too had an image that installation of the WebODM was not easy to achieve since I saw the manual steps to do that, however, it turned out actually it is 'not so much' and I believe if I can do that you guys also can do that as well.

This video shows the steps of installation and doing one small project after all.

Hope you guys get advised and pick up something for your work, and again appreciate that all your supports.πŸ™

Had real problems getting this software installed so followed your guide to the letter including using the older docker version.....worked first time without processing node issues so thank you very much for a brilliant tutorial. The extra explanations from you really helped too. Just brilliant. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks a lot, before you video I didn't take time to try, but now I am computing my firt photogrammetry with WebODM on my PC ! πŸ™‚
  • Thanks for this material, I got through this installation with you and it works. You have a cool style of these videos slowly solve problems with the viewer. But most importantly thanks to you I learned about the existence of WebODM Lightning and for that I would build you a monument. I don't have a mountain of money for those very expensive paid versions of mapping software and thanks to WebODM Lightning there is hope that I can start my adventure with terrain mapping. Thanks !
  • Thank you! I just started my first procession of images, will see how it turns out. Great video and well explained!
  • @AndersJackson
WebODM you can scale down immages after you upload them to WebODM, so it will use smaller pictures to adjust them. You still load up the full resolution pictures.
  • Your video are very helpful man, thanks for sharing.. I also own the Air2S and Litchi, but struggle to find free mapping software because sometimes the budget for my research is tight (fyi, I'm from Indonesia).. On the other hand, my client mainly from government sector and they are very strict on the software used for the projects.. I mean, it is a big no for cracked software to be used in the government project as it is can be suspected as a corruption.. So, on your honest opinion, how is the comparison on mapping software like Pix4Dmapper or Metashape compared to webODM in term of time takes for image processing and accuracy on the same PC? Do webODM is a good choice for the upcoming years?

You should probably have some GCP (Ground Control Points), so you can adjust each run if you doing many. And if you get those points properly located with land servery, you can make a proper map. It is a good way to adjust many runns. Use the black/white squares and position them within cm precision.

I run it on Windows 7 Pro on I7 with 16 GB, it's very slow. But I'm upgrading to 64 GB Xeon this week,

The account is needed to get different users different access to the data on the web server. The first user is the administrator, that control your instance of WebODM.

Great info. I went through all the steps and when I was done, I came to the conclusion that I didn't need or like all of the resource overhead used by the required components. Don't need wsl, docker, git for a single purpose on a machine used for mapping and video editing. Deleted everything and went the windows installer route. I believe something written in some flavor of C is probably much more efficient and stable, no?
  • If you choose the paid option (47 $), is the docker installed by the installer as well ? Thanks
  • @paulmartin7926
How have you got the grid options on your Litchi programme? I can only set normal Waypoints and POI. Thanks.
