This is a 15-minute routine for low back pain from a herniated disc. These are exercises and stretches that I used to help with my lower back issues and can also help with facet joint syndrome and sciatica, which were issues I also had in conjunction with the herniated discs. Always listen to your body and never push into pain. Back off when you need to, take it easy, and be kind to your spine : )

I’m tearing up watching the first section of this video, at the age of 21 I have had chronic back pain for over a year now, been to 4 doctors over 10+ appointments, had X-rays, ultrasounds, looked into ibs, diet, Endometriosis etc. all who have told me in the end “we don’t know why you have pain”. Now saving up money for an osteopath at the moment, but yoga has been the only thing that has helped (I’ve been doing for 3 months now). Thank you for talking about this!

Two years ago i had sciatica, it hurt so much i could barely sit nor stand for 5 min. It affected everything in my life, from sleeping to stepping off the curb to walking….I had gone through all the treatments but not until i found Osteopath and that combine with acupuncture saved me. Tim was right, treatments are nothing unless you walk regularly. I was advised to walk 30 min everyday, but mindfully about how your body is moving, core and pelvis. Then walked 1 hour everyday. Almost a year later, I don’t even notice it anymore! I’m still trying to do the walks, but no need for any treatments now. Daily yoga also helps (body and soul). Thank you Tim for sharing your story.
  • I almost started crying listening to you, I also skated, surfed, snowboarded and played basketball a lot. I am now 25 and feel like my back has aged so much faster than the rest of my body. I can‘t sit still for longer than an hour before my back gets too painful. I felt so heard, thank you.

I’ve been dealing with lower back pain and leg pain all the way down to my foot since I threw out my back last summer. What really spoke to me in this video was the comments about how repressed emotions can lead to lower back pain and tension. When I threw out my back, I was dealing with really difficult financial stress and work stress. Watching this felt really validating and honestly like you were reading my mind. Excited to go on a journey of healing.

Thank you. That was a refreshing change from lunges. Thanks for getting us into the spine and hips where we all hold tension.
  • Hi Kim here letting you know we are working with your video every other day now today was the 8th day. We have some severe lumbar spine issues but today we had some improvements in strength balance and coordination. We intend to continue working with your video and will keep you informed

  • These gentle stretches really take the painful tension out of my lower back. Thanks so much!!

Thanks, Tim! Practicing yoga with you for 9 years has really helped my lower back. You taught me how to stretch my lumbar and also to mobilize my thoracic spine. Spinal twists are a big help too. I am 71 but my back feels younger than that once I get up and do a few yoga stretches in the morning. You are the best. Namaste.
