The Beginning.

What made the original series so memorable was that the comedic writing, especially in season 1, was so strong. I regularly found myself laughing out loud during it. No other series could so much as make me chuckle until that Magikarp episode in Journeys.

Note 📝 for “Gotta Catch You Later”: Notably, out of all of Ash's long-term travelling companions, Misty is the only one to date who left him out of necessity rather than choice. All of Ash's other friends left him because they wanted to continue their journeys somewhere other than where Ash was going next, but even with her bike restored, Misty may have continued travelling with Ash if her sisters' departure had not required her to return to the Cerulean Gym.

Yeah, I'd happily rewatch Kanto over Orange Islands or Johto. There was as much filler in the Johto series as there is water in the Hoenn games...

Bayleef is my favorite Johto member and from the original series. She is adorable, she wants to be the center of attention for Ash, her crush on Ash is cute, her jealousy is amusing and she is very loyal to Ash and she is just precious.
