The Recipe for Storytelling with Ayo Edebiri | Baby, This is Keke Palmer | Podcast

Published 2024-07-03
Today we’re going into the kitchen of IMAGINATION and cooking up a STORM. Ayo Edebiri from The Bear and Inside Out 2 joins us for this very special live episode presented by Audible, and tells us all about her storytelling skills – both as a writer and actor. Things really heat up when we test out a new game called “Yes Chef, No Chef” that we whipped up just for her.

Keke Palmer has questions for days, about everything under the sun. From the existential to the inconsequential, and everything in between. Love (LOVE!) Ayo, but I gotta give Keke her flowers. She is such an incredible interviewer, super insightful and quick with an answer of her own if it gets turned back to her. Plus she's clearly a great listener and is really paying attention during interviews, so the follow-up questions never seem random or disjointed. A+++

I loooove these two together. I love awkward goofy black girls. They must be in a movie together.

When Mrs. Palmer said that Keke doing Akeelah and the Bee would change lives, she was 1000% correct. That is one of the most impressionable movies I saw as a kid and though at the time it just was a great childhood movie for me, I feel like subconsciously it gave me drive to excel in my education and learning in general and inspired my love for puzzles and word games, etc. A classic film truly.
  • this inspired me tremendously, thank you ayo & keke for giving black women who write a north star.
  • @chrisez3188
I love seeing this interaction between these two black queens of different nationalities 🇮🇪 🇺🇸

“we owe it to us to explore the fullness of our ideas” LOVEEEE THAT 👏🏼👏🏼

Keke is such a great interviewer. Usually when host ask questions they aren’t actually listening to the guest. They are jumping from question to question that have nothing to do with what the person last said. Here she is listening to the person then asking to go deeper into that thought or statement like a therapist. Awesome job!

I actually just started the bear last weekend and I LOVE Ayo’s character. But I see that she has kinda that same personality irl. I love it! She’s so funny 😂
  • @itss_nattyj
Goodness, Keke and Ayo are so beautiful! Their hair, makeup, glowing skin. 😍 I didn’t think I would watch the entire interview but I did! Felt like a genuine conversation between not just peers but real friends. Loved it!
  • @Tysean.nicolas
They need to play as sisters in something. Heck throw in Quinta and that’s a guaranteed block buster.
  • @SuperTwihard1
When I hear Ayo talk, I just hear Missy from Big Mouth. It’s so adorable 😭😭
  • @StefanHayden
This is legit one of the best interviews I've ever seen. Ayo is great but also Keke is listening and asking really amazing questions. I'm mesmerized.
