As a dude in law enforcement for 15 years, you're right. Don't rely on the cops. You are your own "first responder."
  • Police respond after crimes. It’s up to people to respond during crime.

I’ve noticed that the firearms advocates I watch on YouTube seem clear-thinking, good-sensed, good-natured, intelligent people. 🙏🏽

I live in a rural county. We only have a county Sheriff. He does a good job but it may take him 45 min. to get to your home if he’s on the other side of the county. This makes the defense of my family my job. I think a lot of times anti gun folks don’t realize how rural America works when they try to implement restrictions.

Unfortunately the legal situation with suppressors in the US I think is absolutely disgusting. In a defensive situation in an enclosed space, they have real value in limiting how much one rings their own bell. They also make practicing at the range much more enjoyable (for everyone). It shouldn't require a $200 permission slip and months of waiting on the government.

As a former cop, I'll tell you most of my former coworkers were the kind of coward who would escalate traffic stops but would allow someone in danger to die for fear of personal injury. Most. Not all. Unless you're a cop in Uvalde.

As a former LEO, former navy seal, former CIA agent, former Vietnam vet, former astronaut, former gladiator, former mafia boss, I wholeheartedly recommend this video.

As a former LEO, they can't always get there fast enough and thanks to so many people hating on Officers in the past few years, we've lost most of the good ones. You need to be ready to save your own life.

I am 70 years old and live in rural Nevada. I try to be prepare the best way I can. 1. First step I move from occupied Kalifornistan to the rural part of Nevada. 2. I stock up with food, water, a few guns and ammo that will last three months. 4. I am limit, due to my age and medical problems, to bug out to another place. 5. My home is my last stand and here I will stay and fight. Luckily many people where I live are pro-gun/2nd Amendment. After what I saw on 7th October of the massacred of Israelis citizens by the butcher Hamas, I thank God we have the 2nd Amendment in our Constitution. It is sad that if Israel had something like our 2nd Amendment, their could have been many Israelis alive today.

In Canada, a guy was recently murdered who was specifically under the RCMP's "protection." They couldn't even protect a guy who they were specifically supposed to be protecting; what makes anyone think they can protect them when a sudden, unexpected attack happens? If they couldn't protect that guy, they can't protect anyone.

A personal anecdote is that my house was being broken into via the patio sliding glass door. They trip the lock by smashing the glass and pushing in the glass to reach the door lock in less than 20 seconds. I heard the pounding as they beat the bottom of the door to get the wood pole in the floor slide and called the police. 45 minutes later, I called again to find out where they were and was told they went to the wrong address but were now outside on the sidewalk. I opened the front door, in my underwear, and sure enough four cops and a police dog were standing there motionless looking back at me! WTF! I waved at them, and they waved back to come out of the house while they went in. Standing by the police dog, who was eyeing me, in my underwear, when the cops came out and said the criminals were gone. No shit! Found out later that they were waiting to hear from dispatch to make sure MY gun was locked up in a safe. This is so stupid it is beyond belief.

Here in Canada, if one uses a firearm to defend oneself, said person is likely to go to jail. Only our rich ruling class can have guns protect them.
  • @sunod7093
I'm Vietnam Vet. Well said and well delivered. Precise and to the point. You also covered all the necessary points. I agree, send this video to your friends, take notes and learn the lingo that he mentions. Of my 55 years of gun knowledge you are right on. Probably a little over the heads of the new comers but they can learn much.
  • @BillSmith-rx9rm
He says shooting the 556 in the house will disorient the perps. It also will disorient the shooter. That's why in addition to my weapons, I keep hearing protection on my bed stand. May not always have the opportunity to put them on, but they are there if I can.
  • @sisleymichael
Yes, you want the best possibilities for an advantage. I had this discussion with two neighbor a while back. They asked why I thought I needed an AR-15. That was almost two years ago now. My how their views have changed!!! Now they want this "crazy" 28yr Army infantryman veteran to teach them. We started out on a Ruger 10/22. They both have AR-15s now. We are working on handguns now. We will get there. (yes, handguns are the more difficult tools to learn). Neither one had EVER fired a firearm when we started. Be positive, patient, and assist people when possible. There are now 2 more 2A supporters, less liberal, Americans waking up, seeing the light, and taking responsibility for their own safety. They will not be voting for dems they assure me. The upside is they do not see me as "crazy" now.
  • @hateferlife
Don't forget a medical kit and the knowledge on how to use it. If you plan to be in a situation where 'making holes' is a possibility, one should have the capability to fix holes too!
  • @markshatto8699
You demonstrate, wisdom, knowledge, confidence in the subject matter. I salute you. As a former Army MP and 20 year civ LEO, I'm glad to read the comments of all those out there that "GET IT". Stay strong folks!
  • I also sleep in " free-ball " configuration. The Mossberg in the corner doesn't mind at all.
