I am very proud of my skin color and my roots. The term "brown skin" or anything related used in this video, specifically refers to the skin and pigmentation problems surrounding brown skin and darker skin in general - more melanin causes more darker spots or patches. This is because cells that normally produce brown pigment evenly across your skin go into overdrive and produce too much melanin. When we break the skin from a cut, burn or pimple, skin cells produce more melanin for protection, which results in a dark spot or patch. Since the sun hits the face each time we step outside, dark spots get darker and tend to linger for years or even a lifetime.

Thank you Smitha, Although, I am an entirely different skin tone than you, hyper-pigmentation has been a problem throughout my life. I wish that I had known about that concoction when I got the dreaded pregnancy beard from too much sun, hormonal birth control and antibiotics. I took me years of using products that did nothing. I learn so much from your channel. I especially love the current videos, 2021. You use very reasonably priced products, that really helps. I discovered primer, because of you, WOW, what a difference! Really, I think it is just amazing that you documented all of this. Your beauty really is in your hope, your fortitude, and your empathy.

This video was fabulous. I get so sick of seeing other channels which are all about promoting expensive products through their Amazon links. Surely anybody can get good skin if they are able to spend hundreds of dollars each month. Thank you for such an informative, honest and helpful video. Your skin looks beautiful!
  • Hey Smitha! The facemask that you showed is actually my holy grail!! And has done wonders to my skin! I too have incorporated this mask in one of my "treating acne videos" This facemask also helps in calming any sort of active pimple on your body not just on your face! I'm glad you included this mask in your video! Lots of love 💖🌻💖
  • @BipolarCourage
I have hyperpigmentation which is combination of hormones & sunlight typically. Don't get pimples often (typically hormonal, stress). I am 48y & people are often shocked when I say this. My skincare is very simple - a gentle cleanser & moisturizer for sensitive skin. I think stripping the natural oils with harsh products makes the skin pump out more oils.
