The Mitsubishi Outlander is an entirely new vehicle for 2022. Is the idea that Mitsubishi only creates terrible vehicles a misconception?

  • We own 7 Mitsubishi including the new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander and we are very happy with Mitsubishi cars no issues at all just regular maintenance and the look of their cars is just really cool.

Mitsubishi makes reliable cars. People who disagree don’t know anything about cars. Prove me wrong.

I just bought my 5th mitsubishi, I have owned the Mirage, G4, Outlander, Outlander Sport. None of them have had any problems. Just oil changes and tire rotations every 6 months. They have been more reliable than any other Japanese car brand I have owned.
  • Mitsubishi is an excellent example of the power of marketing ( or lack thereof ). 20 years ago Mitsu had a great well-earned reputation, not quite Toyota or Honda level reliability, but above virtually every other Japanese brand and two planets apart from any American car. Then the parent company spun them off and, now on their own, they didn't have the financial resources to keep up with Toyota and Honda. So, they just soldiered on for 20 years selling about 125K/year of cheap ( but bulletproof) Japanese built cars and SUVs to people who could not afford much better. However that gave them a bad reputation, erasing the good one. Now, they build one decent SUV and a whole generation is like "whoa, Mitsu builds good cars???" Yet, that same generation of people has no idea that Hyundai and Kia used license-built Mitsubishi engines almost the entire time they have been sold in the US. Only around 2015 was Hyundai / Kia able to use engines they themselves designed.

I'm on my third Mitsubishi and 👀 this one as well. Say what you want Mitsubishi cars are well built and can last a very long time, with proper maintenance. All of my cars have been taken back to the Dealership for service. Kudos on the new 2022, who knows I may make this my Christmas gift to myself.

Not happy with the title of the video. Please change. It takes years and effort to build a good car and giving such a title to review a car do not deserve it. I recently bought the vehicle, but haven't got the delivery yet. For me, I see this car as value for the money, it gives you all things a luxury car can give you at a high price. Other than 3rd-row seating, which is only useful for kids, that's the only disadvantage I find. and yes, could be a little bit bumpy on some Australian rough roads due to 20'' wheels. (Not sure, but mentioned by other reviewers) A lot of reviewers claim, it is not performing well when you accelerate. C'mon reviewers this is not a performance vehicle, not meant to be for that. It is a family car, designed for city and Urban drive.

Just picked up our 3rd Mitsubishi the last two never cost me any big money ,tires brakes, wipers and oil change thats it ! 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport then a 2010 Endeavor and now a 2022 Outlander So I hope to have the same good luck with this one !

The 2022 Outlander GT rocks! Just bought one in Red Diamond Pearl/ light grey leather interior diamond stitched. Stunning! A top Insurance bureau safety pick and. a 10 yr/180k engine & trasmition warranty. 10plus! Luv it watch out competition!💕👍

This vehicle was designed to be a PHEV. This Nissan shared powertrain is just a placeholder for that. Once the PHEV is out, sales will be through the roof. Slam dunk for Mitsubishi. Now we need a 350hp PHEV lancer :)

I hope Mitsu recovers to what they were in the 90's. my family had a incredibly reliable 90 Eclipse. Those 4G63's where great engines. It was originally my sisters and when she moved she left it behind. It sat for 2 years never being moved. I changed the oil, battery, kept some fuel stabilizer in it. Started it up on my first try and sold it to an acquaintance of mine. Then he promptly smashed it over a curb and through a fence a month later.
  • My wife just bought a 2022 Mitsubishi outlander SEL and our mind had blown away with so many features only found on luxury cars.😮 Good job Mitsubishi👌🥳😛

The Outlander actually has a different engine than the 22/23 Nissan Rogue, which has a 1.5L Turbo 3-cylinder. It has more power and torque but I think this 2.5L 4-cylinder is a proven engine and will most likely last longer without issues.
  • I have 2008 mitsubishi lancer that has 317,625 miles with mostly routine maintenance.
  • @bayougtr
Last long-term-rental I had was the Outlander sport. I liked it over RAV4, Rouge, Compass. Drove cross country 3x. I went out and bought one, more than happy.

I just bought the new Mitsubishi Outlander and I love it. It’s a beautiful car. The downside is that it has two recalls you have to remedy for your safety. A computer malfunction that can be set at the dealership, and a flapping hood malfunction that is extremely dangerous at highway speeds that can be ordered and installed at the dealership upon request. They have to add a piece of rubber under the hood to prevent air from making the hood move while going highway speeds. Don’t go over the 24,000 miles if you want Mitsubishi to take responsibility for all the recalls and possible car replacement. Other than that it’s a great car and feels luxurious! Everyone is in awe of my new car and all the features!
  • GO MITSUBISHI!!! Hey Zane, Thanks for a very fair and insightful review. All my past and current Mitsubishis and Nissans have been awesome, fun and extremely reliable! I'm elated at the corporate alliance between the two companies. I've driven the outgoing Outlander PHEV twice and came away extremely impressed!! Ultra-smooth, seemless operation. In fact, I would say Mitsubishi's hybrid system is far smoother than any of the clunky ones from Toyota/Lexus or Honda. As you mentioned in the video, this new Outlander is bold and has an eye-catching design. My 2009 Galant 2.4L (4G69) has been a solid performer with bulletproof reliability. I'm also nearing 200K miles with my 2011 cube SL with its original CVT (CVT fluid changed every 30-35K miles at the dealers). Absolutely no regrets at all. Mitsubishi is extremely underrated here in the US, but I still love them!
  • Unfortunately I bought a 2023 Outlander SE this May 2023 with 47 miles on it and by 200 miles I had issues. It has been back to the dearer 3x by 800 miles with infotainment/electrical issues they cannot figure out. The dealer has had my car for 5 days now and they are saying I am not the only person having this issue. I've contacted a lemon lawyer since they aren't offering me anything. You've been warned. Do NOT recommend
  • @mariatejero9430
I really love it don't care what everyone says it looks beautiful period
  • Just purchased the 2023 Mistubishi Outlander SEL less than 2 weeks ago and it is amazing!! Comfortable inside. A lot of technology and safety features. Just a smooth ride. Going to take it on a 4-5 hour trip at the end of July and looking forward to a great drive. All you comments were spot on.
