Skiing Williamson's Northeast Ridge

No, not that Williamson. :) Climb & ski of 8251' Mount Williamson, in the Angeles National Forest. Starting from the South Fork Trailhead in the High Desert and ending up...who knows?

Nice Andy, We’ll be exploring this zone this season as well. Via different route though, we’ve got our eyes on some lines a little more accessible from the desert floor. Pleasant view ridge, some really epic north facing lines from the PB

Wow, that was something else, loved the exploring. It looked like quite the sufferfest going up, but an amazing summit and ski time. You are doing areas I have hiked, but never imagined skiing. I bought touring gear last year and have yet to go out. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
  • Hey Andy. Any plans to review any of the many many new skis that are slated for 2024/25 season. Seems like some of the manufacturers are heading in the direction you had proposed in your past reviews. One example being the Blizzard line as well as the Nordica line. Very impressive foresight.

Two weeks ago the snow on the north side of the range was awful: slush on top of a breakable crust that covered 18 inches of turn stopping cement. Kudos to you if that is what you were skiing on and making nice looking turns. That trail has taken a terrible beating over the years. I used to ride it from Islip saddle as part of a loop about 35 years ago on a rigid mountain bike before the area was declared wilderness. The exposure was sketchy but the trail was good.
