You could legit make the argument that this is Kanye's most brilliant song ever. Cudi's verse represents the low of bipolar depression (depression), and 070 Shake's verse represents the highs of bipolar depression (mania). That's why 070 Shake says "I put my hand on a stove to see if I still bleed, and nothing hurts anymore" ... that's what mania does to you... you make reckless decisions and feel somewhat impervious to the consequences. The instruments back this up too... the guitars and lasers in the background have way more energy than the downtempo Cudi verse. Cudi's verse is all about the blanket of anxiety depression wraps you in... the hopelessness... "but everything I try just takes you further from me." Kanye's verse is the in-between state, dealing with the consequences of his depressed and manic states "sometimes I talk like I drank all the wine." If you break down the lyrics and the instruments used in this track at each point in its progression, you'll probably also come to realize that this is no lower than top 5 in Ye's catalogue. Ridiculously underrated track.

AND NOTHING HURTS ANYMORE, I FEEL KINDA FREE 🗣
  • my little brother (16 yo) died by suicide while he was on 6 tabs of LSD and about 2 months afterwards I listened to this song in the car with all of my best friends who had been my friends since I was about 13. we were on a road trip driving through the mountains, we had the windows down and all sang at the top of our lungs. all I could think of was how much i missed my brother but simultaneously how grateful I was for the support of my friends. it will be a core memory of mine forever and ever. that’s all.

This song is literally saving my life rn
  • This is a hauntingly good song. The outro always gives me chills. Sad to see where Kanye is in his life and how people publicised his bipolar disorder for clicks and now that it’s gotten worse he’s been cancelled. Objectively he is one of the greatest musical artists of all time and this song is a proof of that
