If you are finding about HDMI Alt Mode for USB type-C or searching for MHL supported mobile list, you are watching the right video.
Or if you are wondering what is MHL, I will explain that too.

If you are using your mobile phone, tablet or laptop and feel like you need a bigger screen, there is an easy way to output your smaller display to a bigger and better screen.
You no longer need extra dongles or converters to do that anymore.
All you need is a single cable, USB-C to HDMI such as this one from the link below.

This cell phone to TV HDMI cable is available from the link below:

My Sony Sony XQ-AD51 (Xperia L4) fails both tests. Are there any converters/adapters available for this model?

The video mixes 2 standards. MHL (introduced in 2010) was used on older phones with Micro-USB connector. MHL data is not HDMI, so you needed both phone and TV to support MHL signal (or an active cable which converts MHL to proper HDMI data). USB-C to HDMI is a passive cable as the technology uses DisplayPort data over the USB, which are directly compatible with HDMI, so no special support on TV side is needed. The Android kernel still needs to have this option enabled, so not all phones with USB-C support it, but many should.

Yeah there's something wrong with the app. I checked my favorite moto 5g one ace. Not supported. Which isn't to surprising due to when it came out. However I checked the new 2023 moto still not supported. Is there a way to find out through phone settings? I have no problem buying this cable even if it doesn't work. Would love to play my movies an shows through phone to tv instead of using phone while i game or something.. i soon realized using phone to watch movies for the amount of time that i did can actually literally crash your phone into a never ending boot loop. Sadly im just going to have to continue using a external hard drive to play my content. Better than buying a 1tb micro sd card anyways. Learned that years ago... Never again.
