That is a sweet looking truck. I guess I'm one of those weird old people now because I just can't give up shifting my truck.
  • Good to see the new rig. With respect to drop axles and air pressure, if you keep them at a minimum or zero, your rig air compressor is satisfactory to have those items that use air will have sufficient air to function. Only adjust the drop axle pressure when you need them. Enjoy your new toy!

I think it's simple enough to understand. It has an acceleration pedal w a brake pedal along with some shifting the gears with some leavers and or buttons to the back. Going out on a limb here

Wow! Your truck is definitely the pride of the fleet now Dom. Good on you for figuring out your no 1 drop axle issue. It all helps with learning how things work. I think your PTO needs to be on for the back axle because its hydraulically operated, and the PTO pump needs to be on for oil delivery.

Each drop pressure should be around 35 to 40 psi. Each drop axle more than likely rated at around 10,000 lbs. you should set them at the scale so you know what they are. If you get inspected by DOT and those drops are set to high, could cost you. Should say on the tag on the door jam what the drop axles are rated for.

I understand it’s all about legal payload and ROI, but these SD trucks make me think the engineers must all be named Bridgestone. 🤣
  • @BattleshipOrion
I already have a thing for the Western Star 49x, but darn that is a beautiful truck. Imagine the 49x with that box.

Superdumps are nice setups, and kenworth is the only way to go, especially with a cummins.
  • Welcome back, missed you, hope the family is well and you all had be a great new year
  • Just remember with that booster axle your gonna have a lot of tail swing and don't back up with it down you will twist the frame up like a pretzel and you will absolutely love the air ride suspension like riding on a cloud I always deflate the bags before dumping because 1 you are more stable and 2 after you dump if there is air in the bags they will over inflate and you will get no traction plus you run the risk of blowing up a bag and that scares the crap outta you

  • So nice from every angle😎....the truck as well😏 Damn That’s a lot too figure out lol
  • The air bags add in something special. A rancher around town borrowed his friends dump truck. He did not dump the air bags, he had some damp gravel on one side, he laid the truck on the side. Too much air on your front lift may cause lazy or late steering. I am sure that you will be excellent! Hello from north east Montana. 10 miles from the Canadian border.
