  • I was a heel striker for a long time and constantly got stress fractures. I changed my form to forefoot strike because I was tired of dealing with fibula fractures, glad I did it.

He had a haglunds deformity, this injury is not from landing on the forefoot, this is a genetic issue and he’s even said he had it when he was in high school. Please elaborate your very scientifically wrong idea of how a human should run. A sub 2 hour marathon was ran by a man who runs on his forefoot. So that’s wrong apparently. How are you supposed to run if not on the forefoot? The heel? Oh except people who heel strike are 2.5 times more likely to get injured and develope severe knee problems. But hey who am I to say
  • @bentravels390
Salazar is basically telling Rupp to stomp his feet, which is disastrous.

Different things work for different people. Heel striking and forefoot striking can both lead to injuries if your body has become accustomed to running the other way and you're trying to change your form. In Galen's case, he had protruded posterior heels since he was young and his docs told him for years he'd need them surgically "sanded down" for lack of a better term. Wasn't because of his foot strike. But again, if you're a healthy heel striker then it's not necessary to switch.

So I guess Kipchoge also proved that with his sub 2 hr marathon running on his forefoot too? A study was conducted in America and found that people who heel strike are 2.5 times more likely to get injured than those who forefoot strike. Furthermore, another study showed that running forefoot increases running economy by 1%, minimal but differential. Running forefoot also encourages better landing (under the hips) and better posture (straight with a slight forward lean). I’m not saying your wrong, I just don’t see your point. And you’ve never clearly stated, even I’m your old videos, where the best place to land is. I’d love for you to further elaborate 👍
  • Have you guys ever tried to run sub 5 minutes per mile in a 5k or above while heel striking? Its so incredibly difficult and you are just working against yourself. This is coming from a guy who has run sub 16 minutes as a former heel striker. Everyone talks about this stuff in theory but until your actually experience race pace pain and discomfort for yourself its just that, theory.

So if not the forefoot, then where? Wish you would elaborate more. This vid feels incomplete.

Search for athlete Moses Mosop and see technique him. This vídeo not justifique the injury about forefoot strike. Show more informations. More fundaments in your arguments, please. Thank you 😊
  • The facts are there.... watch ANY film of ANY barefoot runner that is a good runner and you will see a midfoot strike. Heel is definitely out and toe is only for sprinting. The design of the Achilles tendon needs you to NOT land on the heel so you can stretch its elasticity and regain that potential energy per stride. Using one athletes injury without proper context and medical examination is classic straw man argument.

He practical runs long distance on his toes. Also wrong. Running heels first destroys your knees, hips and lower back, running long on toes hurt your Achilles. You walk heel first, run ball of foot first and sprint toe first

Fast track one year later. Rupp dominates the US men at the Olympic Trials, and takes 2nd place at the Chicago marathon, further proving that no other US distance runner can touch him even now. The man has run at the elite level since highschool, endured insane workouts from Salazar, has had amazing longevity, with a silver at the 2012 Olympics in the 10,000, and now blitzing all other Americans on the road. The guy gets injured a while back and somethings wrong with the way he runs? Give me a break. I guess this guys going to make him a better runner? Lmfao. Rupp trains like an animal but he's not made of steel. And he's once again proven that he's the best the US can offer. Amazing athlete with amazing form.
  • @chrisgarcia337
He has haglunnds deformity it had nothing to do with landing forefoot
  • @chrispark7010
Bwahahahahahahahah the title of the video is so ignorant. Haglunds deformity is a bone growth on the heel that disrupts the Achilles. Rupp was out because of the haglunds deformity. It has nothing to do with a forefoot strike or any of that nonsense. Every elite runner has a different strike but hey they’re all elite. There is not good or bad.
  • @KOMROOK
Look at Mary.....she is now a corpulent mama.....LMFAO.......she is cooked.
  • @lemons9097
Walk heel first, run ball of foot first, sprint toes first
