Both of these server networks also did the same with surf, but to a lesser extent. Cybershoke ported surf_mesa_revo quite badly and slapped their name on it. Not much later, a community member contacted the original mapper and proceeded to port it himself just out of spite. The cybershoke port ended up never getting used by anyone, including cybershoke themselves. Meanwhile xplay had many ports that were fine for the most part, but at some point for whatever reason they decided to unlist most of them so people are cautious of using those ports.
