As a resident of Ontario for over 37 years, I can tell you while slightly over the top, this is 100% accurate.
-
As an American, this is low-key, one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
-
I was the sound mixer on season one and two... as much fun to shoot as to watch, if not more. Jared, who plays Wayne, is the creator/writer and Jacob, who plays Glen, is co writer and director. The most fun you can have making tv

The way the characters speak is such a delightful blend of typical small-town lingo and Canadianisms, and such a completely improbable touch of beat poetry and thoroughly over-the-top back-and-forth to-and-fros. Love it.

As an Aussie from a small outback town who lived in small town Canada for 6 yrs in the early 2000's, this show is Gold!
-
Jared Keeso is the creator, writer and plays the main character. It started as a series of skits that he and his friends wrote and posted on YouTube. They also have a great show, called Shorsey about another one of his other characters which is specifically about hockey culture.

Welcome to Ontario, Canada! πYes, it is hilariously stereotypically accurate.

"Too much John Cougar... Not Enough Kim Mitchel"π€ππ» ππΌβπΌπ¨π¦

As someone from a hick town in Southern Ontario, I can confirm this is what life in rural Canada is like. This show is basically a documentary.
-
I live in Southern Ontario, and I can confirm that, yes, these characters are eerily accurate. They remind me of the kids I went to high school with back in the 90s. Honestly, my favourite episode is probably the very next one, Episode 2: "Daryl's Super Soft Birthday ". I'm a long time subscriber, and a big fan of your reactions. Keep up the great work!

Letterkenny is one of the Best Canadian Comedy's of the 2000's Ive watch all the seasons and all the Extra Holiday specials ( I highly Recommend) . the show's Writing is Fantastic and characters are Epic!!!! Welcome to the Letterkenny world!!!

With Letterkenny, what kills me, is to hear my local accent on screen. It's an emphasized one, for sure, but the quirks in turns of phrase, such as erroneous plurals done by Squirrelly Dan, are real things that people do around here. Letterkenny is based off a small town about 40 mins from me called Listowel. The chirping (insults) are common, as since we don't have too much to do, we play with language as a way to pass the time... But the plurals thing, I was at a funeral for the grandmother of one of my inlaws, and her grandson was giving a really lovely eulogy, and I had to bite the inside of my cheek because all I could hear was a very heartfelt Squirrelly Dan. My favourite part of Letterkenny is the fact that I got my American pal more hooked on it than I am. lol

Agreed! Trailer Park Boys is a Canadian institution as well. Worst case Ontario π
-
CORNER GAS is a Canadian comedy about life in a small town on the prairies. Honestly, Canadian comedies are great. Little Mosque on the Prairie, Kim's Convenience, Red Green Show, Schitts Creek, Due South... I'm sure I'm forgetting some
-
One of the funniest shows to ever hit TV, and absolutely 100% Canadian. I used to spend some time down near Listowel, ON in the summer (the town this is based on) and can confirm this is eerily accurate. π
-
Shoresy is a spinoff of Letterkenny, and worth a watch
-
Letterkenny and Schitt's Creek are defo my fave comedy to come along on Canadian telly in a good while.. and if they are on.. then I'm watching!!! πππ Cheers from Ontario, Canada!! π
-
I hung out with a bunch of guys from this part of Ontario in high school and University, and yeah this show's basically a documentary.
-
Letterkenny is Canadian comedy made for Canadians as opposed to older "Canadian comedy" that was made for American audiences.

I live about an hour from the town listowell, where these gentleman are from. Once the show blew up a couple of lads changed the welcome to listowell sign to welcome to letterkenny. And the town council still hasnβt taken it down
