It would seem that things are getting tense, as both Caiatl's forces and our own continue to clash in ferocious combat. Zavala believes it's time to end this and make peace with Caiatl. This makes sense as next week we will be getting the new strike called "Proving Grounds", which will take place inside the Tank on Nessus, and the story of next week will likely revolve around that and we will also likely see the cutscene with Crow, Zavala, and Caiatl at the peace treaty on Nessus. Stay tuned and subscribe for that! I will definitely be posting that cutscene next week!

Can I just say how honestly happy I am that Zavala's character is coming through? I know he's considered kind of a bland character in the Destiny community but I always respected how he made the right call, even if it wasn't the one we wanted. Now, that's playing to his strengths. We get to see how good of a leader he is. Even Lord Saladin, as unrelenting and bold as he is, respects Zavala's choices even as they are starkly different from his own. And Zavala knows this and keeps Saladin close on his council anyway, not undermining or disrespecting him. Also, Zavala has shown great pride and trust in our characters. That he'd be willing to be on humanity's guardians "any day of the week." Idk I've just come to really like the dude.

Zavala and Caitital won't actually fight each other. They're both too important to their sides to be slain in Ritual Combat. Instead, they will send their seconds. Us vs Caitital's new right hand. Thus the proving ground strike begins.

One is too deadset in their ways and had been through so much with the loss of fellow iron lords. The other is hardheaded and doesn't want more guardians sacrificed to the enemy like Cayde. Both want to protect humanity but have different approaches in doing it.
