This is my first animated video in Blender, as opposed to SFM. If you're wondering why it looks different, that's why! Plus, it's my second video edited in Premiere. My eyes are so tired.

I actually did a speedrun of hammer_space about a year ago and the speedruncom staff rejected it because they thought the game was still in alpha 😂
  • @FUNKe
I liked oneshot btw that description was just an admission of fact EDIT: i'm told my speedrun explanation describes low%, not any%. Really what i'm trying to mention is a speedrun that willingly breaks the game for time saves, while the amount completed is largely irrelevant.
  • @starxrosser
I doubt anyone would even mention it, but damn, I really love the way the word delay was delayed at 5:45. That little bit honestly just shows how much little detail you put into the videos you make.

For those who did not know, the name of "The Magic Circle" does have meaning. The "magic circle" is a theory that applies to any sort of game, Physical or Digital, And can be most related to a contract with the game. It is the rules that it or you set out and your ability to follow them, often for the sake of enjoyment. For example: When you play Uno with your family and everyone agrees that you can stack similar cards, you and your family enter into a Magic Circle. Now with this information and the context of the game you can see how this name fits. "The Magic circle" is a game that has yet to be given rules, There is no Magic Circle, So you make your own by messing with the code and putting it together, All just to enjoy the game. If you want to learn more on The Magic Circle as a concept, I highly recommend "How Inscryption Toys With You" by Daryl Talks Games. He goes more in-depth on how it works by using the magic circle of the game "Inscryption" as an example. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

This video was so self aware that it wanted to be watched twice
  • I love how you speak into the bomb fuse like it's a mic at 2:40. such a cute detail
  • Everyone’s talking about the animation and writing but damn, those well done harmonies and that little falsetto note 😩
  • I hope Craig gets added to your ever growing list of pets in your videos
  • @dazcarrr
i really love the use of chapters in this video, it truly helps with organising the key parts
  • @Graphomite
I am floored by this channel. FUNKe's script and delivery is so good that he doesn't need the animation. This channel is witty enough to succeed with a shitty still-image rantsona, yet FUNKe crafts us a whole cartoon's worth of visual flare with every upload. The passion of this man is inspiring. Also, the subjects of discussion are always unique and interesting as well. This man really does just pick apart with full genuineness random shit he finds interesting about so-and-so video games.

8:04 that oneshot comment caused me so much pain and grief i had to replay the game 16 times as a coping mechanism
  • @EreNyn3
This is one of those vids where you have as much fun watching the main contents as you do searching for and pointing out all the little jokes and details. As a random side note, "too much self-awareness is exhausting, but too little of it could ruin your life" is quite the relatable quote.

Kojima's 4th wall breaks don't always work for me but seeing Old Snake's psyche meter go up and down in cutscenes always makes me smile and Snake casually pointing at his bandana and saying 'infinite ammo' out of nowhere actually made me laugh out loud, it was so unexpected.

2:02 “L’appel du vide” means “the call of the void”. You know when you’re walking near the edge of a cliff and you think about jumping off, so you get scared? That’s “l’appel du vide”. General consensus is that it’s there so we don’t randomly jump and off ourselves. You’re brain literally scares you out of it.

8:07 I love how he does the thumbs up from Terminator 2 as he sinks through the floor. Such a nice touch!
  • @s_gren9981
Craig is now an official part of FUNKe universe and I wanna see him more
  • I think FUNKe is the absolute perfect example of "Quality over quantity." So much work goes into these videos, it's astonishing.
  • @possamei
Bro this is art, pure art. Glad to see your style flourish in this way, really beautiful video and thought out script. And nice song at the end!!!
