Artificial turf is crazy as it retains heat in the summer.

If I were a Sacramento city politician or business leader, I would start immediately rallying the populous and other business leaders for the stadium and the A’s. This is Sacramento‘s chance to show MLB that they can successfully be the home of a team. They already have an NBA team, and it would be a longshot to get an MLB team, but this is their chance to shine.

Exactly, the smaller, more intimate stadium model would be for small market teams. My guess is that they will add seats to this stadium in Sacramento and love it. I owned a chain of restaurants. Many of my mid volume locations made more money than my urban, high-volume locations. Reason? Overhead. MLB is all about TV revenue now. Build the small park for $500-$700m tops.

    A’s should stay in Sacramento

They need to be the Sacramento As not the LV a’s. They need a expansion team along with Charlotte ,and move the rays to Nashville

I think that I have read that the A's will share the stadium with the River Cats. I think it would make more sense to temporatly relocate the AAA team to Fresno or someplace else. When the Toronto Blue Jays played temporarily in Buffalo the Bisons AAA team played in Trenton, NJ.

It could be a permanent move to Sactown if the Vegas plan fails.

This park was built in 9 months. In order to do that the footings had to be much stronger than normal, and it was designed to support an upper deck to bring capacity to 30,000.
  • You can tell the dude is not from Sac. All this heat worry. Sacramento doesn’t have humidity like the Texas area teams or Atl or Cincinnati during the summer it’s very comparable to LA for a day game. This dude knows nothing about Sac evidently. This isn’t Palm Springs or Arizona or even Vegas in Regards to heat.

John Fisher should've never been given the green light for relocation, leaving their HOME market without the funds to follow thru!
  • Sacramento is not Arlington, TX. 97 degrees without the humidity of a southern city is not the same thing. If Atlanta can play day games in July and August, you can play a day game in Sacramento.

Ok, I live in Sacramento. I does get very hot in the summer. But it cools off usually in the 60’s in the evening. There is this thing called the delta breeze which cools off the city at night. The river cats do play some Sunday day games but they are not well attended because of the day heat. The reason for the artificial turf is that both the A’s and the river cats will both be utilizing the field and and turf grass would never hold up for that many days of play. I imagine someone will be playing most days of the summer there
  • I wonder, what if the folks in Sacramento would help resurrect an old MLB ballpark proposal they once tried to do near the old Sleep Train Arena site?
  • @ousamaabdu794
I have a hunch the A's will stay in Sacremento permanently..
  • @johnharris6655
anyone who has lived in Sacramento can tell you the difference between daytime and evening temperatures can very by as much as 30 degrees.
  • @ajvonline
This is such a fun ballpark. Sac has major-league play. Enjoy it while it lasts 😊
  • @letsgowalk
A stadium so intimate that John Fisher can’t wait to see Aaron Judge hit bombs into the water!
  • @cnw8891
The Braves play day games in the high 90s with way worse humidity than Sacramento will ever experience
  • @sawyertuide7636
Anybody talking about the Artificial Turf in 100 degree weather? LMAO
  • @markr7083
I’m going to as many games as possible 💯💯💯
