I lived a similar lifestyle when I was your age, including substitute teaching. I traveled to all the US states except the Dakotas, Hawaii and Alaska. About age 40 I realized I had nothing saved for retirement and my teacher retirement benefits were not looking good at all. So, a couple years in grad school, a professional certification, 11 years of professional employment and fast forward, very fast it seems, I was able to retire with full benefits at age 57 with a healthy 403 account… just sayin’ enjoy this lifestyle now, but ya might want to start thinking long term because the time passes very quickly and you will want to become financially secure in order to afford travel later in life 😊

I really appreciate you sharing the reality of day-to-day life, especially when you're having to work hard/multiple jobs so you can save up to go on your future adventures. I've been there myself and it can be so soul crushing if you don't keep your future goals firmly in your mindset. Teaching is hard and retail work can seriously suck = total respect to you for doing both! 🫶 Sending you positive vibes!
