Fear is the Path to the dark side. Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, and Hate leads to the Republican Nomination.

Wait so he saved 800 jobs by starting an unprecedented govt intervention of free market and gave govt tax money to a company that then re-invested that money which will lead to losing 1000s of jobs? Holy crap!!!

People are gonna give Trump credit for what Obama did aren't they?

I like the part where how Carrier is getting all of this money in tax cuts to keep jobs in the US yet they spend the extra money on robots for their factories.
  • Thanks to trump I was able to win a bet against one of my friends who voted for him. I bet that his first deal was going to be a big mistake and I won

This is the worst mistake americans made, electing a bully.
  • In short, Trump can't make a good deal to save his life. Are any of us surprised?
  • @MaggieS81

Most jobs that have been lost in the US is due to automation and not outsourcing.

Is it me or is Trevor on a roll right now? slow start and now he is fucking crushing it lol...
  • @RawbeardX
he could have given those 1000 people 7 million dollars and that would be probably more profitable in the long run.

The fundamental problem with the Republican desire to "make more jobs" is that low skill jobs are going to continue to disappear as automation gets better and better. It's a train that can't be stopped with tax breaks and charisma. The only way to keep people employed is to make higher education more accessible so that people can get higher skill jobs which are more difficult to replace with a machine. Even that is only a temporary fix. The kind of work that machines can do nowadays is alarming and amazing. Millions of jobs are going to continue to disappear over the next decade because of automation and Republicans are going to have no idea what to blame it on.
