So my jazz band is currently doing this song, and I have been tasked with the flugle part. But for some reason it is extremely hard for me to hit anything above a G above the staff, even though I can do it just fine on trumpet. Any advice??
  • @Coltthulhu
@BOSEROCKS1 no it isnt *fluger is like the tenor of trumpets or melos
  • @twwallace
@BOSEROCKS1 Yes it is, just the tone comes out as more of a melopho ne sound.
  • @1vibrato It's a different arrangement than Chuck's. We're doing the same for our jazz band.

just practice, it took me a bit before i could do it on flugelhorn, because i could hit on trumpet no prob like you.
  • Yeah. The partials above G are small. You definitely need to do a lot of practice with the horn. Do not think that just because you can play the trumpet you can play the flugelhorn. You probably already performed this piece by now, but take a look at my page and listen to the version I did. My flugel at the time wasn't working so I had to perform it on a trumpet. Cheers!
