In this video, I'll show you how I added a shock sensor to my factory oem stock alarm system. The factory alarm system only when the door, trunk or hood is open while the car is still armed. It does not go off when the glass is broken or if the car gets hit or when someone tries to steal your wheel. By adding a DEI shock sensor, anytime the sensor picks up a shock, it will trigger the factory car alarm. You still use the OEM remote and it cost much less than adding a aftermarket alarm.
This method is pretty much for all vehicles. The trigger wire can be either the hood switch wire or the door switch wire. A relay is used so that the shock sensor is off while the car is on and only activated when the car is off. The alarm will not go off until all doors, hood and trunk is closed.
I would recommend also adding a wheel lock to your wheels and adjust the shock sensitivity accordingly. When a thief tries to steal your wheels, the shock from them removing the lugs or wheels should trigger the alarm.

This was very helpful. For the 2017 WRX, the door sensor wire is blue and white near the left foot well cover. You can follow the main harness on the driver side to the footwell. There’s 2 identical wires. You’ll have to test which wire is tied to the door sensor. I tapped into the fog light fuse for 12v constant and for the 12v ignition, I tapped into the cigarette lighter fuse.

Thanks for the diagram. That helps a lot. Sensor is always powered when ignition is off 30 to 87a. When a shock happens it grounds blue wire that triggers the alarm. That looks to alarm box like a door or hood opening. Ignition on relay powers on 85 to 86 coil pins, breaking power to sensor because now voltage is between 30 and 87a this is not hooked up to anything.

This is wonderful, however, to make the circuit agree more with the spec of relay, I suggest using (85) as ground and (86) as ignition switch deactivation of the sensor. Best video I found on this hack, thank again!

Very cool video and appreciate that you provided. Just a quick question...assumed you used a relay with the ignition wire to only allow the sensor to be active when ignition is off (car parked), otherwise sensor would be triggering off and on while driving, etc. Please confirm. Thanks
