While bounty hunting wasn’t as popular a career as many Hollywood films would suggest, it was a way for some of the most experienced and isolated gunfighters to make a living, while using their talents to the best of their abilities. To cover these intriguing and incendiary figures of western frontier lore, here’s the next video in our series of both famous and infamous bounty hunters, continuing with the legendary assassin and title-winning sharpshooter, James “Deacon Jim” Miller, sometimes better known by his hired hand sobriquet, “Killer Miller.”

His grandparents were not murdered. They all died of old age. His mother’s parents died and are buried in Mountainburg, Arkansas. His father parents in York, Pennsylvania. Don’t know where this fabricated story began, but amazing how it’s stuck around and repeated in practically every book and documentary about him.
