Kishimoto did not actually forget that Rasenshuriken damaged your own body when using it. Every time after the first its used against Kakuzu there has been a different element that changed how Rasenshuriken was utilized. When it came to Pain, the nature energy of Sage mode stabilized the Rasenshuriken enough that it could be thrown, which is good because now Naruto is not caught in the Blast when he delivers Rasenshuriken. See that was the issue with it, it's not directed enough towards the enemy, so when it's used from the hand Naruto's arm was receiving essentially jutsu recoil. Going forward Naruto never uses Rasenshuriken without some form of nature energy within it when he throws it. He goes into Sage mode to throw it at Madara in the Fourth War, he uses it in Six Paths Sage Mode in the final battles, and he throws it only once hes reached Sage Mode Kurama Chakra Mode. In KCM1 Naruto uses the chakra arms he can now make to "throw" the Rasenshuriken away from his body, since hes not familiar enough with nature energy to do it on the fly like he can post Six Paths. Its actually one of the more consistent things in Naruto, and something I commend Kishimoto for, because it shows that Naruto is smart when it comes to creative problem solving.

Rasenshuriken was only damaging as a "melee" attack because it exploded in Naruto's hand. Once he got sage mode and could throw it, it wasn't dangerous to him anymore.

I think the status "forbidden" just means a jutsu normally shouldn't be taught to anyone but a select few. Once someone learns it, the damage is done. So no one stops them from using the jutsu itself. When Tsunade designated Rasenshuriken as forbidden, as it damaged the user too much, I think she just added it to the list as she would any other but specifically ordered Naruto not to use it only because of who he was. A valuable Jinchuriki and clearly someone Tsnuade viewed as a like son/little brother. Rasenshuriken would damage his cells each time he used it, eventually stopping him from using chakra and possibly killing him. Still, if it was anyone else, I think she would only label it as forbidden, telling him to use it only when necessary but not outright ordering him not to.
  • Actually I believe night guy bending space time makes perfect sense. The theory of relativity states, in a very condensed version, that the faster and object moves the slower it experienced time. So since with night guy you move incredibly fast you start experiencing time differently which can be seen as a form of bending spacetime. Maybe not 100% scientifically accurate but for me it's enough to makes sense in Naruto context.
  • The Hidden Stone Kinjustu is probably banned because of the third mouth, the chest mouth. Where the user sacrifices their own life in order to take out everything within a roughly one to two mile radius. Violating the Mass Destruction and Self sacrifice rules.

I swear this man can't help but make 40+ min videos. Thanks for the content hammer.

Fun science fact as objects approach the speed of light they get heavier as well. In short if you are just shy of the speed of light and you add more energy to accelerate the object faster it is turned in to mass instead. Learned this when studying how particle colliders work.

I remember you stating that the Minato's Soul had it's arms destroyed by the Truth Seeker orbs because the arms Minato lost during the fight seemed to be missing when the Impure Summoning jutsu was released. However I have an alternate theory about that. Minato's arms had already been released from the jutsu, by the Truth Seeker Orbs. Minato's arms arrived in the Pure Lands before Minato himself. Which must have really weirded out Kushina. One after another, her husbands arms appear next to her in the afterlife, hours before Minato himself appears and attaches to them. There is a precedent for this as Orochimaru's soul arms were also in a separate realm.

Hey Nick big fan!! Naruto only got his Chakra network injured by the futon rasengan because it wasn't throwable yet, he had to be close just like the rasengan to land a hit. Once he mastered the jutsu and was able to throw it it became non damaging to naruto.

The reason naruto still uses the rasenshuriken is because it is safe for him to use since he can now throw it (in sage mode or sage of six path mode) instead of involving himself in the attack. When Naruto had learned the rasenshuriken he did not learn how to throw it so when he hit the rasenshuriken on kakuzu he involved himself in the attack when the rasenshuriken exploded destroying not only kakuzu's body at a cellular level but also the hand which he was holding the rasenshuriken with during the attack. This damage was done by some microscopic needles from the rasenshuriken which destroyed the cells of naruto's hand and arm and kakuzu's body hence causing tsunade to make the rasenshuriken a forbiden jutsu since it harmed the user. But after naruto had learned how to enter sage mode he was sneaking out at night in mount myoboku (during the pain arc) to try and perfect the rasenshuriken eventually learning how to throw it so he would not have to hold the rasenshuriken while it exploded on the opponent hence not involving himself in the attack. For modes like kcm1 or kcm2, naruto would create limbs out of chakra for which he would use for the attack rather than his own arm's and hands so his cells would not be destroyed by the microscopic needles produced by the explosion of the rasenshuriken which is why naruto still uses rasenshuriken to this day.

32:54 Technically that's how speed works. When you accelerate any body(matter) with significant mass to near light speeds their mass begins to increase exponentially and thus the effect.
  • Um actually, Night Guy does follow physics. And you began to explain it. The mass of the blood is part of it for sure, I would assume acting as the gravity center for the soon to be massed (as a verb), meaning made into mass, Chakra. Chakra is energy. And energy equals mass multiplied by the speed of light squared. E=mc^2. General Relativity explains how energy, of any type, can be converted into mass and vice-versa. So, I would argue that Night Guy converts Chakra into additional mass, coagulating on the blood vapors. I could have said condensing, but I chose coagulating because blood. The now mass-ed energy along with the blood has enough gravity to bend spacetime. This has been your physics lesson for the day. -Your Friendly Neighborhood Druid

Fandom: Hey Mr Kishimoto do you wanna do something with this concept you introduced? Kshimoto: Nah fam I'm way to busy creating plot holes but here you have another doujutsu

You know… maybe the reason why we see people using forbidden jutsu’s all the time, with no consequences, is because you need the permission of a kage to use it. Think about it, except the for villains, the good guys using forbidden jutsus are always either the current kage, their successors, or people who easily surpass the current kage. Beyond that, it would make sense for the people who determine what jutsus to ban, to be able to give pardon to those who’ve proved they can use them safely. Naruto invented Rasenshuriken, so of course he can use it safely, and he mastered multi shadow clone jutsu as a kid, and has never had a hitch in his power while using it. Minato is… well he’s Minato, he made flying raijin famous, and was the Hokage when he used reaper death seal. Same goes for Hiruzen. Tobirama invented three forbidden jutsus, so of course he can use them safely, but he explicitly chose not to use them. He was never said to be bound by law not to use them.
  • What I love about Edo tensei is that it canonize heaven and also the fact that Tobirama, the guy who created the jutsu itself, a jutsu that goes against the rules of nature to the most extreme point, and the guy who decided to use the same jutsu to commit warcrime by creating immortal infinite suicide bombers, has canonicly gone to heaven since edo tensei can be used on him.
  • 37:22 The reason why Tsunade made rasenshuriken a kinjutsu was because when Naruto originally formulated rasenshuriken he was hitting the target(kakuzu) with it up close like a normal rasengan. Because he was so close to the blast, even thought he got away as quickly as possible, it damaged his hand and the rest of his body according to the proximity of that blast. But after that Naruto realized he just had to throw it (of course, i mean, rasenSHURIKEN). Then he would just throw the rasenshuriken to avoid the blast and avoid the cellular damage. So is rasenshuriken really kinjutsu in that case where he is not longer endangering himself or is it still banned for the large destruction capabilities? Is it only kinjutsu if you don’t throw it??? We need answers. Great video by the way, I love your content!
  • So a technique is considered Kinjutsu if it is (A) grossly unethical, (B) physically risky for the user, and or (C) excessively destructive. Easy enough to understand. But can we talk about how Fire Style techniques are literally never seen being useful? If I remember correctly, we see exactly two people in the entire series score kills with Fire Style: Sasuke killed one samurai using Amaterasu, which I feel shouldn't count because it's a Mangekyo Sharingan ability, and Madara was being Madara during the Fourth Shinobi World War. Apart from those two, I don't think we ever see Fire Style being effective!
  • @jclevey3806
Kishimoto didn't forget the downside to the Rasenshuriken, he wrote in a way around it. Naruto simply either uses nature energy or Kurama's chakra to form it so it doesn't damage his chakra network. They didn't explain it in much depth but they did write in that excuse.
  • @twistpv
If you use a forbidden jutsu, you become hokage…
  • I personally think the reason why Lord Third and Fourth weren’t in trouble for using Reaper Death Seal was because they were using it to save the Leaf Village from destruction. And plus they were hokage. To them, the Village comes before them so I’m sure that “Self Sacrifice” rule would be null in the face of the Leaf’s destruction.
