  • I’m 63. I sure do miss the days of having a house full of children, cooking non stop, and sleeping hard at night. Now I have more time to keep things super organized and tidy. More time to explore new crafts. Rearranging my furniture instead of buying new. Enjoy every minute. Time FLIES!!!

I got married in 1985 at age 22. I miss the days of no technology. Life was busy, but slower. I had more time to clean, organize, craft, cook, all the things I love. In the mid 90’s I started working full time, but cellphones still weren’t a thing. Then the 2000’s came and my job required that I have a smartphone with me at all times. It still does. I am overwhelmed. I just want to slow down again, now that I’m 61, but i have to keep working. So now I’m addicted to YouTube videos. I need to cut way way back, and concentrate on me and my home again. Thank you for reminding me of simpler times. It’s so nice to hear that as a younger person you feel this too and recognize it. I love that you appreciate your home and family and that you love it. ❤

I am 72 , Hubby is 73 and every Friday is “ our date day”. We always do something a little different and special from the rest of the days. We are still madly in love and we both look forward to our “ special” day. It’s the very simple things we do that are the most enjoyable.

"Get your kids to come back?!" If I were you kid I'd never LEAVE!!!!!
  • @NatalieAbler
My kids r 40 36 33 and still come home every Saturdaynight for supper❤

I got off FB after the birth of my second child (now expecting #8!). More than just something for me, it was a gift to my children. It was a gift of my time and attention, setting my priorities intentionally, making sure the kids aren’t just interruptions to the FB never ending scroll. But the part I think they appreciate, is their childhoods remained private and protected. It was a struggle to retrain my brain and break some habits, but I’ve never regretted it.
  • When I take my little grandchildren to the park, nothing makes me sadder than seeing young mothers ignoring their children while glued to their phones. They barely look up from the screens. It breaks my heart.

I always remind myself through the cooking, cleaning, farming and homeschooling…that I GET to do this. It’s a mental game changer.
  • This is so True! We were not created to know about Everything Everywhere…. We Need to pay more Attention to Our Own Lives & our Loved Ones 😎
  • I hope that many young homemakers are encouraged and challenged by your words today! I thought back to a time when my two were young and we did everything for “free-ninety-nine!” I used my son’s wagon and I’d pull them to the library, to the park for a picnic, to the yearly dance festival in our town, and so much more! It only required effort to just do it. That was over thirty-five years ago! I miss those days of sandboxes, homemade tents, dress up and jello jigglers. I hold those memories fiercely. Being a mother/homemaker is the most honorable gift and it flies by too fast. I appreciate your gentle reminders to us all. You and your sisters’ channels are a few great reasons for modern day technology that are a blessing in my life! Thank you, thank you! 🙏🏻🙌🏻🥰 Those berry crepes look gourmet worthy! Yum!
  • I left social media about 3 years ago… no regrets 🙌🏻
  • @whoaacandace
“We are getting robbed of our peace of mind” YES. This video so perfectly summed up exactly how I’ve been feeling thank you, I needed this
  • As a momma for the past 20 years (10 kiddos later), you are 100% correct. Things have changed so much, yet I realize I've just become more old-fashioned as time went on. ♥ Thankfully, my grown girls have embraced the lifestyle and are going to end up a million times better than me. Isn't that always the hope? 🤗
  • This was fantastic! Thank you for addressing this topic. YouTube is the only social media I engage with. I can't imagine spending endless hours scrolling on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.

I have such a hard time with house envy. I’m 44 and disabled on a fixed SSD income so I’m a life long apartment renter. I know if I had a home not attached to others with a back yard I’d be so content. I am always grateful for all I do have including access to local food banks so I try to make the best of everything on my plate mentally, physically and literally.

This hits on exactly how i feel! I was just telling my friend that i was not made to know so much. I cannot mentally handle taking care of my families needs and all that entails/homeschooling/working part time/all the worlds conflicts/all the opinions of content creators and then getting pulled into the comment fights/trying to enjoy time to myself etc etc. my real life circle is small and often i feel like i use social media to fill it in, but in general it just makes me feel unfulfilled or pushed me to consume more social media or the “must have” product the push. I scroll when i should read or get something done. I scroll when i should be resting! Its just so hard and addicting. And i hate it. Sorry for the rambling 😂
  • I just have to laugh! I saw you Lisa, without losing a beat, just take that utensil out of your sons hand as he just got it out of the drawer! Now that’s a momma , one of our multitasking, mom sees everything superpowers!!! 😆 I loved it!!! You are such a wonderful mom, wife and woman. And yes, we have lost the ability to relax and enjoy our lives. To enjoy our families, extended included! To be thankful for the slower moving, easygoing pace. Music is a blessing! You are definitely an encouragement to me . I must tell you, I have grown to love you and I pray God will continue to bless you and I would call it, your ministry. 😊❤

My oldest turned 18 in May and my youngest is almost 7. Parenting has changed so much since the 2000s. It’s wild.
  • We have family dinner at my mother in laws house every Monday. My son just graduated high school moving away to college in a month and I’m beginning to realize what a treasure it is to have your kids CHOOSE to spend time with you. I only hope to be so lucky!
