In other dancing styles the contestants are serious and sometimes dramatic, this is the only style where you get soaked in positive energy just by looking at it. It's funny, fast, cartoonish, but still elegant. It's so intriguing.

It is impossible to watch this and sit still. I am 73, overweight and due to arthritis can barely walk. But I got up off the sofa and started jigging around. I was dancing! It was wonderful. Thank you! So happy!
  • My dad dance like this! He pushed all the furniture aside on Saturday nights and taught us all the old school dances in our family room. He kept say “kids, these dances are going to come back”....thanks y’all for keeping them alive...and my father’s spirit too!

After watching this through, I was so impressed by the skill a grace seen here. And, I was convinced I could do what they did, with just minimal practice. So, using this music, I gave it a shot. After only a couple of attempts, I nailed it ! I was able to sit in the floor, legs crossed and watch the dancers, just like they did ! A camera malfunction prevented proof of my success, but the satisfaction is there. Great video ! I exhausted now, but loved it !

Everyone looked like they were having so much fun, I couldn't keep the smile off my face :)
  • Wonderful to watch consistently high performances by BOTH ladies and gentlemen. Didn't witness any partner being outdanced.

This is one of the things that needs to make a serious comeback in American society. The happiness and joy that comes from dancing has the ability to smother the dark of depression!

When I was fifteen/sixteen, I used to go to the Rockin' Ball House in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I've danced untill my feet bled. I still got the petticoats and some dresses, all original from the fifties. Love this footage! Takes me back in time.
  • I started dancing 7 years ago and haven't looked back. Best thing I have ever done and cant imagine life without dancing now . Love from Australia🐨

Brings me so much joy to watch these beautiful people dancing and keeping these dances alive. Watching this just brightens my life
  • @updownstate
I remember my parents rolling up the living room rug and dancing to the radio.
  • @karlwelin7932
I could watch this for hours! I notice, these couples are no longer teenagers. And there must be something special about this dance floor. All the dance couples seem to float. AND these pretty Ladies dancing in high heels? Just absolutely pure talent
  • @joanofarc33
I am so impressed this dancing is being kept alive.
  • This absolutely fantastic, this type of dancing had such an intimate but 100 percent positive energy to it that is totally missing today.
  • @tonboy907
Oh my god, the red-headed woman without a partner at 7:18 absolutely KILLED IT! She did a great job without her partner!
  • This came up on my recommendations on YouTube and it was quite mesmerizing! The dancing, the chemistry between partners AND even the clothes were amazing!! BRAVO 🥰👍
  • @acolvill1
I find myself watching this video a second time, paying closer attention to the looks exchanged by dancers as they transition. I don't know why, but it makes me happy.
