I remember it this way: este is near, so you can see the t but ese is too far to see it :-] The explanation of the accents is fabulous!

I liked it that you spoke more spanish in the lesson. Good to make the brain work and get used to hearing words in normal use.

Ana muchichisimas gracias!!!! Here is a little tip that I find very helpful, that you might want to share with students. For English speakers it is very difficult to remember when to use the Spanish equivalent for 'this' and 'that', 'these' and 'those'!!!! When we are referring to something close we say 'this' which is 'este' or 'esta', and when we refer to something further away from us we use 'that' which is ;ese' or 'esa'. OK here is the (tip, trick, or aid) notice in real life when things are close to you they appear larger than when they are further from you. The same is true for these Spanish words, notice that the words 'este' and 'esta' are longer (larger) for objects close to you than the words 'ese' and 'esa' which are for objects further away. The same helpful guide applies for the plurals 'estos' and 'esos', and 'estas' and 'esas'.

  • I literally never leave comments on youtube, but Ana is an amazingly effective Spanish teacher. She actually incorporates a ton of mnemonic strategies in her teaching which is SO helpful. She uses diagrams and scenarios to help you organize and understand grammatical concepts, AND she's fun to watch and learn from. Thank you, Ana!

She's so intense! I had no idea what she's saying when she goes into her little rants in Spanish, but I love her energy. Enjoyed this lesson very much. Muchas gracias para clase!
  • Talk about a laughing class. I moved to Mexico a week ago and these classes are the most helpful I've found. They are such a mix of educational and joyful. I find myself smiling the whole time, and as a visual learner, they are incredible. Thank you so much.

I am a Native Spanish speaker and I think Spanish will be easy for a native English speaker to learn. It is mostly a replace the word in English with the one in Spanish. I said "mostly". I'd say memorize the most used Spanish words first and you'll have won "most" of the battle.
  • Tienes un flow muy hermoso. Ya disfruto de tus clases. Muchas gracias por tu ayuda para enseñar a los del mundo. Saluditos desde mi país. Me encantaría aprender más. Absolutamente sin lugar a dudas eres increíble.🙏🙏🙏🙏
