I first learned about Sarona Rameka after meeting her neurologist, Dr. Matthew Phillips, at a conference in 2019. He mentioned an upcoming case study pending publication about a patient who had overcome stage 4 thymoma with only keto and fasting - no chemo because doctors had determined there was no hope for a cure. I waited anxiously for his paper to be published in Frontiers in Oncology in May 2020:

I was blown away by Sarona's story and we became friends but I didn't understand the full breadth of her journey until doing this interview for the upcoming documentary:

We're deep in editing the documentary now but I couldn't wait to post this as I know her story will bring so much hope to so many. I'm NOT an editor so please don't judge =D The real edited version will show up on the documentary channel in the future:

It's worth checking that channel now for clips from our experts.

Visit Sarona's site for more details on her healing journey: www.saronarameka.com/

This interview was recorded for the upcoming CANCER/EVOLUTION docuseries but, even though it hasn't been professionally edited, the story is too inspiring not to share now.

  • I love this story. My PET just lit up in my liver so the first thing I have done is started a fast. Goal is 5 days but I might just continue to 10 days. Am waiting for an MRI to be scheduled. Am praying the light goes dark by the time I have my appointment. Thank you for sharing your amazing story

Her lungs have recovered really well considering the tumours. So she just did fasting and keto diet? That’s a miracle

Such an inspiring testimony about Faith, courage and trusting your God given intuition. Praying for you full recovery. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.

You've been such an inspiration to me. I first found the research paper written about you. I've been following a similar approach to you for my brain tumour.
  • Thank you so much for your story! I've read the case report multiple times, but did not know it was from NZ, as am I! I have been keto-ing/fasting in secret, to avoid scrutiny, but I feel this has giving me the courage to ask just a few more doctors for guidance. Good luck with the doco Maggie!

Well, you are also amazing, read everything on your blog. I am on a plant based diet (not keto) and I lost already 11 kg on this diet (80 kg -> 69 kg, 165 cm) mainly fat and a bit of leg/glutus muscle. I want to do fasting and keto but I am worried about further weight loss. How did you manage your weight during the fasting and keto? Love to read/hear from you on your blog. Please post a bit more on your blog, even if it is a keto recipe. You are a very brave woman, truly an inspiration. Sorry for this unpersonal response. I don't want people to know I have cancer, I told a few and their response is a bit like "dead man walking".
  • Wow just an incredible story, even though you was highly motivated to fast to fast as long and as often as you did must have taken an extraordinary amount of will. Do you have any tips on how to multiple day fast like you did without losing your mind? And if you dont mind me asking what kind of keto food was you eating inbetween fasts and did you time restrict meals? Thank you very much for your time and i hope your doing well. Much respect. 🙌
  • Thank you so much for sharing the story. My question is, Is Sarona on Keto diet forever without any break?
  • Hi I love your story! I've recently been diagnosed with colon cancer stage 3. Im 41😢. I immediately did a 5 day water fast. Sorry they did remove tumor and I did 6 months chemo But last month they found a small spot on my liver. Going to remove it soon. Shall I follow my gut and fast more? I can do keto too. Ive been checking my blood ketones. You must hear a lot of stories. Is there more and more success with fasting and keto? Sorry to be so long winded. I believe in God as well. Maybe he led me to you!
