No music, no talking, just making a Rubik's Cube Rug from start to finish!

My 9th rug tufting video - Now this one was challenging. I told myself that I would first complete the cube part of the design and then move onto the melted section, which definitely added a lot of unnecessary extra time to the rug making process. This was from constantly having to switch colours again and re-thread the yarn into the gun - so now I know it's best to complete all sections using that colour before moving onto the next one!

Once again feel like my choice of colour could be improved, specifically with my yellow yarn. I think this is because when the yarn is in a ball it appears as one shade of yellow, and after it's been passed through the tufting gun and the ends have been cut, the shade of colours appears different in the light... has anyone else experienced this?

Any questions you have about the processes seen in this video drop it down below and i'll do my best to give you the answer.

The video is absolutely satisfying and the fact that this melted dice made me feel happy and at peace by looking at it, I ascended. Thank you for your efforts ❤ Wish you much success and happiness. 🎉 Also whoever reads, you're not alone, you're worthy. Have a nice day. ❤

I wonder what your neighbors think when they see you turn off your lights and put cardboard boxes on the windows and start drawing and it makes that weird noise. Great art keep it up!

This one looks like your most complex yet, and turned out great! I think I can relate to regretting not finishing a whole set at one time. Sometimes the designs I work with I wish I would have cut more before going to polish, or polish before cutting more. Going back and forth and resetting equipment sure takes time with any artform it seems!

Imagine putting such huge efforts to do this, and forgetting to tap on the Record button on camera. 😮 Very satisfying video. Loved it. ❤️

Awesome improvisation there with the scissors handle👌
  • Great rug! To fix your ‘colours changing once they’re cut’ issue in the description, try a test swatch of all your yarn, even make a whole catalogue if you’re feeling funky! Could be a fun side project to document all the different yarns you use :)
  • Wow I didn't know such a device existed for making rugs like that. That is so awesome
